dallas is the 4th ranked offense and the 8th ranked defense. so its not like theyre horrible and arent doing anything on either side of the ball.

stupid penalties at the wrong time have killed them in every game this yr. even in the texans game thats what kept the score respectable cause other then that the texans were destroyed.

this team just needs a little discipline and i dont see anybody on the coaching staff that seems to care about that aspect. so unless theres a change theyre gonna have to just overcome stupid penalties.

they have 2 or 3 fewer penalties a game and this team is undefeated. 1-3 and i still see no team in the nfl that can stop the cowboys. well maybe the cowboys can but thats what they have to stop.

all you non believers can........nevermind i dont want to get another infraction lol.

Proof that stats don't always tell the story.

To me Brett Favre is one of the most overrated QB's of all time.

This team makes non-stop mistakes and we are still competitive (mainly due to our offense). If the line can sure back up and cut back some on the penalties, we'll be ok eventually.

Their record is proof that they are indeed a 1-3 team, but I see where you are going there.

i dont think that. if ur saying that then so are guys like dan marino, dan fouts, and so many other guys who stacked the stats but not the trophies. they just played in times where better teams were assembled.

if it wasnt for the cowboys and niners favre might have had about 5 rings.

a Commander fan calling favre overrated but i bet hold theisman in high reguard:rolleyes:

true but i dont think its been as bad as this yr ever. it finally hit the fan with that witten/colombo penalty. i dont know what got into witten but usually he just throws the ball to the ref. bad choice on his part

This is the basis of my hope.

PLAYERS! COACHES! JERRY! CLEAN UP YOUR FRICKING ACT!

The ironic thing to me about the penalties is that Flozell is gone. Who has picked up the slack?

All this time, and you dont know ? I dont think the Commanders had EVER had a great QB. Some good ones, but never a great one. Sonny, J oey T, and all the rest included.

As far as the Favre thing, you ready for it ? I am going to lunch for about 2 hours. But trust me when I say, that I don't need to look it up. My brother is a Favre jock hugger and a Packers Diehard. He hasnt called me in 2 days. haha.

And times were harder in the Fouts and Marino eras.

the Chargers are 1st in offense and 2nd in deffense yet are only 2-3. its weird year thus far all around the NFL

We're 27th in turnover ratio. Some of that is sloppiness, but some of that is problem with defensive philosophy that is not simply a matter of "becoming more disciplined."

Proof that turnovers and penalties negate all stats!

It's the turnovers, mostly. Then the mental errors. That includes penalties, but encompasses a number of drive-killing bonehead plays that we've seen regularly this year.

Stats are deceiving, at the end the only thing that matters is points for and against, and in that column the Cowboys are 16th and 21st respectively.

And missed FG's

What the heck does that mean?

As for your other post, I agree that a 1-3 team has one win and three losses, but I also believe that a team can be better than its record. You can lose games because you commit penalties, blow assignments and don't play detail oriented football, and you can lose games because your players aren't any good. The former situation can be rectified with work and focus. In the latter case, there's not a whole lot you can do.

As Cowboys fans, we look at the numbers and see that the team has FAR out-gained it's opponents and held the ball more than eight minutes more per game. We understand that if the team can eliminate some mistakes going forward, it can win some games and get back in the hunt. We know they can do it. They did it in Houston and crushed a decant Texans team. Have they demonstrated an ability to do this consistently? No. But teams get on rolls all the time. I don't think you'd argue that the Cowboys are capable.

Wise old philosopher once said "you are what your record says you are."
