Just wanted to share my thoughts quick on a little detail that was probably overlooked and frankly, probably for good reason because it really wasn't a huge deal.. but i did notice on Kitna's second pick he threw, Bennett really showed good effort in pursuit of the ballcarrier to prevent a big runback.

Just thought that was nice to see from the kid and he deserved a bit of credit after overrunning the guy at first and then getting knocked around on the ground by a few different Niners, he even got his helmet knocked off and still eventually got up and ran the DB out of bounds. Play probably would have been dead at that point anyway because his helmet came off, but it showed some guts and maturity i think from Bennett. I was happy to see that.

Also.. nice game by Spencer. Glad to see him playing like he could start commanding some attention from offenses. I remember in college he was a straight up beast, it'd be awesome to see him start playing like that for us and have he and Ware completely DOMINATING teams.

I was going to post about this the other day. It was nice to see him not give up after having lost his helmet and being bounced around like a pinball. Like some others on this team, he showed heart.

Dude, this year is his coming out party. I know, I know, people have been making that same statement for the last two years or so, but anyone who's watched the first two games can see he's a difference maker now.

He is who we thought he was.

I think he's a FA next season too. If we're smart, we'd give him a contract like Scandrick's before he gets double digit sacks this year and becomes too expensive.

And re: Bennett. It's nice to see a guy with supposedly a big ego, know his role. He's not the dynamic athletic receiving threat a lot of us thought he'd be. He's not Antonio Gates or Aaron Hernandez unfortunately. But he has a defined role on this team as a blocker, and he does it well.

I was really glad to see him out there. FWIW, I think a play is only blown dead when the ball carrier's helmet comes off.

I was listening to Lunch Break podcast yesterday, and it sounds like Bennett is counting down the weeks he sees himself in Dallas. During an interview, he said something like "I've got what? 15 more weeks here".

Probably just wants a fresh start like Choice. Of course, he made his bed here with his childish behavior.

Agree on props to Bennett. He seems to have matured some as well. Dude was fighting without his helmet. Good job Marty B.

I noticed that play too. Bennett is a good role player, an excellent blocker. I wish we could keep him in that role, but maybe that's not fair to him. With injuries at receiver, I wonder how the TEs will be used Monday night. They will surely need to help with blocking, but a big receiving game game from the TEs (not just Witten) would take some pressure off of Romo. I say lots of screens to the RBs and move the chains with the TEs, unless Dez is near 100% and they trust Holley in a Crayton-like role.

That's just it, for me anyways. The guy has the talent to be a HUGE part of this offense. Focus? Immaturity? Who really knows. I just know the dude has the tools and it's frustrating to see him not play to his potential. JMO, of course.

IMO Hernandez is a product of a system. Gates is dynamic. Bennett could be too. Gonzales is flat out amazing for a big man.

This only stood out to you because he lost his helmet and it humanized him more. You saw strain on his face as he fought to get to the defender.
