We were talking about this issue last week. I asked my guys what we should do about the constant users walking in like they owned the place and barging in on our work and conversation.
Our solution and I had building management turn it on last Monday.
No longer can you access our suites if you are not on the proper badge access list.
Some users actually sit and knock for minutes at a time.
We are all..
"We here you knockin but you cant come in. Come back tomorrow and try it again." We get the occasional funny.... "It's me, Dave. Let me in."..." "Dave's not here!!"
Good thing is now all of our users are properly using our heldesk portal and filing support tickets like they should have been doing all along.

If you are a regular user, here is some advice. Leave your IT and developer folks alone and follow your companies protocol about how you contact these folks for support.
They are busy people just like you. Probably more busy.
