Prosecutors want Adrian Peterson arrested again after marijuana admission

Shutdown Corner

Presumably, someone close to Adrian Peterson told the embattled Minnesota Vikings running back to lay low while his felony child abuse case was ongoing and his NFL future was up in the air.

The opposite of laying low would be to smoke some marijuana before a court appearance, then tell a court employee during a urine test that you "smoked a little weed," as Peterson allegedly did on Wednesday according to Fox 26 in Houston.

The Montgomery County District Attorney has now asked the judge to revoke Peterson's bail and have him arrested again, according to ESPN.comand Fox 26. Peterson had been free on a $15,000 bond. Using drugs would be a violation of his bond conditions. Fox 26 said no action was likely to take place against Peterson on Thursday, because the judge has a recusal hearing scheduled for Friday. Peterson's trial is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 1.

I have no problem with weed, but he should absolutely go to jail.

I'm getting really tired of professional athletes making a mockery out of the standards a normal citizen would be held to.

A lot of them really do think they are above the law. It's becoming a real issue now.

If there's any bright side to this, Emmitt's record of grinding out 4-5 yard runs for countless years is looking pretty safe and sound for years to come.

I feel like there is something more to this. Why would you admit to smoking the marijuana during a drug test? AD has made some poor life decisions but there's no way he's that dumb.

This.

The kid who got sent to a treatment center for Afluenza (Or however they spelled it) after he was driving drunk, speeding, and killed people on the side of the road, because his attorney and stuff argued he suffered from having so much money he didn't understand that laws don't apply to him, showed you clearly enough that you don't have to be an athlete, or even famous, to get away with something that the average citizen would be going to jail for.
