List of players the Cowboys have spoken with, scheduled for a visit or scouted (based on my own reports). I'm sure there are people I missed that have been discussed in the media, please feel free to add them and I'll update as we go.

Players in Blue represent prospects I have personally discussed with scouts directly in regards to the Cowboys. I put a little more weight into the interest based on the credibility and position of my source. With that, I'm not immune to a smoke screen either so please don't put my information on that level.

Ratings based on combination of my own evaluation and notes I have been able to obtain from scouts.

Great stuff, SDogo.

Do you think Blake lasts until Round 5?

This is a great thread! Thanks SDogo! Information like this is what makes the off season tolerable. :)

SDogo, one other question.

I know this isn't a highly regarded Safety class.

But outside of Barron, who are your favorite safeties or Safety sleepers this year?

Or do you think the Cowboys should almost forget about safeties in this draft class and just wait until next year?

I was gonna ask do you think he will drop that low, lol:D

Great minds . . . . :)

I've seen some mention he could go as early as Round 3. Ideally, if we don't get an OL very early, it would be great to pick up a OC in Round 4 and focus on Defense early.

I don't, he really gets a scattered grade from scouts but all it takes is one. Personally I would expect him to go off the board late 3 to 4.

No Brandon Boykin? Come on Jerry get your scouts on this guy!

Also notable omissions that fans like:

Chase Minnifield
Hosley
Devan Wylie ( I think thats how you spell it)
Vinny Curry
Cordy Glenn

Oh the Safety position. Seems us fans value it much more then the Cowboys do themselves. I personally get the feeling the Cowboys will look for value at Safety in the draft meaning if someone drops they will consider it but don't look for them to make a move for one.

Small school prospect I really like is Justin Bethel from Presbyterian, SC. Typical small school prospect who needs NFL coaching but his ceiling is huge.

Keep an eye on Bradon Hardin from Oregon St, kind of big CB/FS convert. Missed all of 2011 and has fallen under the radar. Had he stayed healthy could of been a 2nd round pick in this class.

I'll have more on Minnifeld in my draft prep thread but you know that one prospect everyone talks about, figure he will go early then around the 4th and 5th rounds you look down and he is still there? From what I'm hearing, you can pencil in Minnifield as one of those guys this year.

Hosley and Glenn I did not include because I have not been given a definitive report on.

I expect Curry to be on this list soon

I don't expect Wylie to make it, I'm not even getting a draftable grade on him from people I talk to.

ROUND 1:
These are my favorites of the listd
Melvin Ingram | OLB/DE | South Carolina
Whitney Mercilus | OLB/DE | Illinois
Michael Brockers | DT/DE | LSU He is a good player but may not be dynamic. May be Ty Warren or Tyson Jackson instead of Richard Seymour

ROUND 1-2:

Dre Kirkpatrick | CB | Alabama I don't think he is there without tradedown and I don't think we will take him at 14
Andre Branch | OLB/DE | Clemson Love him in second
Coby Fleener | TE | Stanford LOVE HIM in 2nd I think he would make our running game hum because teams would go nickle in 2TE personnel because he is a natural pass catcher
Peter Konz | OC | Wisconsin I don't like the health risk vs. upside
Brandon Thompson | DE | Clemson okay

ROUND 2:

Billy Winn | DE | Boise State I'd love him at 3 but not 2
Kevin Zeitler | OG | Wisconsin YES this guy is great
Ronnell Lewis | OLB | Oklahoma He has so much potential. He is everybit of Spencer vs. run and coverage; He applied pressure but was out of position playing as a 5 technique and even some 3rd down dt. Played 1/2 year as 4-3 DE and was very good + 1 year at 5 technique

ROUND 2-3:

Jared Crick | DE | Nebraska Love him
Trumaine Johnson | CB/FS | Montana
Stephon Gimore | CB | South Carolina Love him but I'll bet he goes between 25-35
Mohamed Sanu | WR | Rutgers good player but he would have to fall to be a fit

ROUND 3:

Michael Egnew | TE | Missouri Great Athlete
Kyle Wilber | OLB/DE | Wake Forest

ROUND 3-4:

Josh Newman | CB | Coastal Carolina
Brandon Brooks | OG | Miami (Ohio) I LOVE this guy
Jonathon Massaquoi | OLB/DE | Troy
Cyrus Gray | RB/KR | Texas A&M Smaller DeMarco

ROUND 4:

Leonard Johnson | CB | Iowa State
Ryan Broyles | WR | Oklahoma Love him
Cam Johnson | DE/OLB | Virginia I like him and would love him in the 4th

ROUND 4-5:

James-Michael Johnson | ILB | Nevada
Audie Cole | ILB | North Carolina State
Asa Jackson | CB | Cal Poly
Chris Owusu | WR | Stanford

ROUND 5:

Philip Blake | C | Baylor
Brett Roy | DE/OLB | Nevada
Quinton Saulsberry | C | Mississippi State This guy is nasty
Terrance Ganaway | RB | Baylor
Evan Rodriguez | FB/TE | Temple
Charles Brown | CB | North Carolina
Rhett Ellison | TE | USC

ROUND 5-6:

Tank Carder | OLB/ILB | TCU
Ron Brooks | CB | LSU

ROUND 6:

Ishmaa'ily Kitchen | NT | Kent State
Chase Ford | TE | Miami
Harold Robertson | DT | William and Mary

ROUND 6-7:

Ronald Leary | OG | Memphis
Travaris Cadet | RB | Appalachian State

ROUND 7:

Johnny Thomas | S | Oklahoma State
David Snow | OG/C | Texas
Carson Wiggs | PK/K| Purdue

ROUND 7-UDFA:

Sean Baker | S | Ball State
Brian Peters | S | Northwestern
Patrick Witt | QB | Yale
Kyle Martens | P | Rice

I hope Cox is on our list too along with Corelle Judie.

Yeah of course I guess I have asked you to death about the safety position...;)

Can't be ignored that Trumaine Johnson is on that list, and he will probably play safety in the NFL cause he really doesn't have the hips to play CB. At least there is one on the list, so there is hope along with the late rounders.

Nice list of options, can't say I'm in love with any of the listed centers though. Just don't like Blake's age, hes like picking up a free agent instead of a draft pick, and although he is a good player its just not someone I can get excited about.

If they really are looking at DEs in the third round, I would hope they would add Bequette to the list of Crick and Winn. Also interesting there are so few WRs on the list, even with our obvious need there.

Mohammed Sanu at #82 would have to be considered a pretty big steal for us. He doesn't fit the slot receiver mold but would be excellent value at WR in the 3rd, IMO

Sorry but I've heard Dallas likes Fletcher Cox but he isn't in your 1st round.

Also no Jammel Fleming or Dwight Bentley. Come on.

that was nashville radio saying Scott Wells was close to signing and that they were going to release Amano. Then an hour later espn said he was signing with the Rams. I dunno what happened there. I guess Rams came back with more money.
