Over the next 2 years between Ayodele, Carpetner, Ware, Burnett, and James we have about $5-6 MM in base salaries per year tied up in linebackers.dbair1967;1299706 said:psssttt...we have plenty of LB's and plenty of money tied up in LB's

Al is a free agent. No one would give up a draft pick for him anyway.RealCowboyfan;1299827 said:Cowboys needs pass-rushers. I say trade Al Singleton for a 5th or 6th round draft choice and sign Lance Briggs or Thomas.
Who ever is the better pass-rushing linebacker I say take em. Get Bill Cowher in here to perfect our 3-4 defense with Dick Labeau. Or just change back to 4-3 and get Jimmy Johnson.

We pay one of our receviers that much per year. To say we have too much money tied up in linebackers is ridiculous.
The point of your post was that we had too much money invested in the linebackers. Whether you word it as "plenty" or "too much" is irrelevant. We don't have "plenty" of money attached there if we're not getting the results we want.dbair1967;1299854 said:I didnt say we had too much, I said we had "plenty" ...also consider we invested a 1st in Ware, 1st in Carpenter, 2nd in Burnett, 4th in James and significant $$$ in Ayodele, and we have put alot of dough there...that doesnt even count Ellis, who we dont know the status of for sure
again...its time for coaches to work with and develop what we have...you cant sign a freaking allstar at every position...besides, if nothign changes in the scheme, it doesnt matter what players you put out there...the results are always gonna be the same

I think we have the talent on this team already, we need to get some fresh coaching ideas.
Yeah, the "anyone would be average in this scheme" meme is tired.DipChit;1299910 said:If you think those guys would be nothing more than average it must mean you think the guys we have aside from Ware that dont make plays as it stands are way below average then. Because theres no question those guys are better individual players than the guys we trot out there like Singleton, Ayodele, James etc.
So how would coaching do anything more than bring to bring our guys up from well below average, to simply average?
