I go with PE because of longevity but NWA seems to be more iconic even with the shorter life span. Thoughts...

Tough debate, but Public Enemy was a staple on our away games back in HS, so that music just brings up good times to me.

Public Enemy! But I never listened to NWA, so that's pretty biased.

I did run across an interesting factoid about them though: When the music industry went from distributer info on sales to actually taking the info off of genuine cash register sales, there was a sea change. The last week of the old style had Michael Jackson at number 1 on the charts. The first week of the new style had NWA as number one.
