I’m talking about the previous contract. After the 2020 season where he only played a few games before the major injury that ended his season. His new contract came the following offseason (and he didn’t even have to wait till summer).Dak got paid before the 2024 season not after. He got hurt afterwards. Purdy couldn’t ask for 60 million coming off a 20 TD and 12 performance. Tua, Dak, Lawrence all had career years and got paid. Purdy had one of his worst.
Brock’s numbers from 2023 were comparable to Dak’s. It’s not just the fact that he had a relatively poor season last year (with basically all the main playmakers out with injury or dealing with injuries). He did not hold out or refuse to sign a new deal. But I imagine he understood the team was willing to move on if he didn’t sign, and understood his market might not be as good outside of SF.
