Put a Center on the Practice Squad

I'm beginning to think there really isn't anyone currently out there that has any value for a roster spot at Center. I see some Centers still being released from PS from other teams, most ,if not all, UDFAs, and would like to see Cowboys scouts bring 3 or 4 of them in for a look. As they say one man's trash could be another man's treasure. If they like one they could place them on PS for minimal investment. It would probably be as good a insurance policy that the team could get and if nothing else start coaching them up for next year. It's most probably a long shot but our current situation could blow up in our face. Costa out injured with no timeline for return and not sure how good he will perform when he returns, Arkin's not the answer and Mack hasn't played Center in any games, I don't believe, so we really don't know what he has to offer. To me, we are one injury away at Center from possible disaster with very little, if any, viable options.

Some options are as follows:

Scott Wedige--one of last cuts with Arizona then signs 9/10 with Giants PS and released today 9/12 (2 Days), in order to bring back Mark McCants.

Jason Slowey- cut from 49ers

Tyler Horn--cut from Atlanta

Chase Beeler--cut from 49ers, placed on Eagles PS. We could really PO the Eagles by taking him.

Just a thought. Your thoughts and additional options if you have some.

They probably don't see anyone out there. Kowalski should be back from PUP at some point.

You could very well be right.

I wish we heard something about Kowalski... We've heard very little about his problem. I'm not even 100% certain what it is or what caused it.

I've read on here that the team does not really expect him back this year.

I guess that's not a shock.

Any idea what caused his problem Hos? I mean this has been going on for months.

Great idea - we need some center depth.;)

we probably got about the best center prospect left

Killa looks like a lost cause for this year

So with Arkin needing another year to get stronger we are pretty much stuck with what we have

Costa looks very questionable

Cook looks solid

I wish we would give Bernie some practice at Center because really we might need him there

I thought he could come back after game 6...?

He could come back then if he is able to , don't know extent of injuries.

All we know is that it's some kind of ankle injury. We don't know any specifics or how it came about.

Their saving him? Coach Woick is working on a Kawasaki. Rebuilding it...

;)

The center that the Cowboys picked up sure helped that's for sure!

He might just stick around. Costa needs some time off too.

Yes, but that is the function of the PUP list, not an indication of the extent of his injuries.

This new center that the Cowboys got looks pretty damn good.

He might be the starter and Costa backs him up.

It appears the team is fine with Arkin and Mac as the backup C plan for now with the hope that Costa will return soon. Its time for all of us to deal with it and move on.

It's not that serious

Snapping the ball isn't important

See Oakland vs SD-they managed just fine

We have

1. Costa
2. Cook
3. Arkin
4. Bernadeau

That's 4 options right there, I just don't think they are looking right now. I think if they sign anybody it will be a veteran with experience.

I like the idea of signing either Slowey or Wedige to the PS. Both guys have upside.

Bat likes the idea of a wedgie.

"Heh heh"

Use the practice squad for adding raw guys with long term pro potential regardless of position.

Not for adding warm bodies at a position for the sake of adding warm bodies. Especially at a position where you're currently carrying 3 players on the active roster.
