Here's what I think happened.

Last year, Jason Garrett and the Fords entered into a secret pact - to try and bring legitimacy back to Detroit. Or initiate it in Detroit, because it's up for debate as to whether it ever actually resided there.

Anyway, Garrett agreed to take the job but hatched a diabolical plan to swindle the Cowboys out of draft picks, hope, and butterfly kisses.

The Lions knew that Roy Williams had some problems, but wanted something for him, yet had a high asking price. So Garrett agreed to return to Dallas and make this deal happen. Jerry already had the idea in his head, but Garrett nurtured that idea, gave it wings.

Let's face it, Marinelli and Millen should have been fired last offseason - people were shocked when they weren't. But they held onto them to bridge the gap to their eventual savior and redeemer - RJ. Not only did RJ come to save them, he helped broker the deal to get them a ton of picks for a broken receiver. Now he's headed to Detroit, with the #1 pick, another #1 and a host of other picks, and he'll have tons of control with Millen gone.

People, this is just crazy enough to be true. Don't believe me? Ask yourself - Where did RJ go to school? Yeah. Ivy-league, people. He could pull this off.

Crack smoking. Garrett's using Detroit to build urgency so Pat Bowen will make quick decision on him. He's trying to close the Bronco's gig and wants leverage on his asking price. He has $3 million as an OC and "now Detroit wants me, Pat" which is at least $4-$5 million. "So Pat, see I'm worth it, the market is dictating that". Sales and interviewing 101.

So was the only person on our staff or scouting department that wanted to make this move was Jerry, or did he have any other voices hyping up Keyshawn 2.0

I know I got sucked, I thought the move would change our offense - then I remembered the type of player Roy Willliams was after hearing Troy put him on blast every time he called one of our games.

The idea is crazy. So crazy that I guess there is a slight, very slight that is, chance that someone actually thought that up and worked out that plan.

That said that isn't what happened. I agree with Rake and this is nothing more than JG trying to get a little extra leverage to try and seal the Denver job.

Oh, I get it. Conspiracy theory. Do you think it might be tied into the JFK murder?

Maybe not JFK, but it has to be tied to the Big Three bailout. Once Ford was able to dump Millen and Williams Ford is able to survive without help.
