Of course no one wants their QB to throw picks. That's a no brainer. However, a pick is not always the quarterback's fault. For example, we've all seen a quarterback throw a good pass right into the receiver's hands, only to have the receiver tip it, causing the pick. Or the receiver might run the wrong route. Cases like that could be entered into the stats as RAF-interceptions, meaning "receiver at fault." By contrast, if the quarterback simply screwed up, causing the pick, then that goes into the stat as a QAF-interception (quarterback at fault). It would be interesting to see how many QAF picks Dak has compared to RAF ones, but those stats don't exist.
Do you guys think that a QAF versus RAF method of keeping interception stats could work in the NFL? And be useful?
