QB Colt McCoy Traded to Niners

Terms of deal: Browns agree to trade QB Colt McCoy and 6th-round pick to San Francisco for 5th- and 7th-round picks. Niners have new backup.

Solid deal for San Fran. Get a backup QB and a draft pick and they still have a whopping 14 picks in the upcoming draft. The real winner is Colt McCoy though.

Hey, the 49ers found one of the few QBs with a weaker arm than Alex Smith.

Colt will probably get some playing time because I doubt Colin is able to play every single snap of all 16 games.

The 49ers will have to cut half of their draft picks this year. Unless they go with the Special Teams draft. I will go out on a limb and predict the Cowboys will make at least one trade with the 49ers during the draft.

1) package picks and trade up
2) trade some 2013 picks for future picks

No team is dumb enough to do a "Special Teams" draft

I can see the 49ers being major players and moving up or giving up picks. I doubt they'll carry more than eight picks when all is said and done.

If this gets Colt away from the Browns I bet hes happy whether or not he has to backup somebody else.

Not a bad move but I think Harbaugh is pretty good at working with QBs.

I think he did pretty well with Smith and Kaep looks like he's developing as a player as well.

Could be a solid backup.

I hear you but the problem is gimmicky offense run to perfection = NFC Championship, Jerry Jones saying we don't need anymore Olineman cause Romo can escape = 8-8.
The Niners offense didn't seem to get Kaepernick hit very much last year, at least not as much as Romo in our 7 yard drop run for his life offense. I sincerely hope Jerry was not serious though.
