"It won't cost too much monetarily to fix Tebow,'' said George Whitfield Jr., who has worked with Ben Roethlisberger, Cam Newton and Andrew Luck. "But it's going to take at least six weeks of dedicated, isolated training time.

"It's doable," Whitfield said Friday. "And I absolutely believe it can be done, and I would absolutely go in with him on it. He is going to have to make the decision to morph to the position -- to re-engineer himself skill-set-wise to quarterback. Footwork-wise, hip-generated throws, throwing up over defenders, it can be engineered. > http://www.thetowntalk.com/article/...ebow-Quarterback-gurus-see-way?nclick_check=1

It was interesting Googling for George Whitfield. The first hit was not the living QB coach in the article, but the famous 18th century evangelist...strange and mysterious ways?

Seriously, Tebow should jump on this now, then find a situation that will work for him. The Jets have all kinds of issues - he never should have been there.

The kid can play.

You don't win 2 national titles, go 7-4 and beat the Steelers in the playoffs if you don't know how to play the game.

Woody Allen better clean house in NY, Tanenbaum, Ryan, Sparano, all of em' - they gave that kid a raw deal and stuck with a total scrub in Sanchez.

It's because they gave up so much for the 'Sanchize' they didn't want to look stupid. If I'm not mistaken they moved up from 17 to 5, gave up 2 firsts and a 3rd or something to get him. And right now he's with the Kolb's and Skelton's of the world as the worst QB in the game.

Has more to do with Ryan and the Jets FO's arrogance than it does with Tebow's inability to 'perform'.

How are you supposed to get in a rythem when you're running 5 plays a game coming off the bench cold.

I watched that same guy that 'can't play' whoop their *** last year, then take it to the Steelers and won a playoff game.

People get so lost in mechanics and the aesthetic that they forget the only thing that matters is Ws and Ls and that boy knows how to win.

Sanchez has always thrived from the defense, he's definitely one of the worst 10 QBs in football, he's like Diet-Alex Smith, with tiny little woman hands, his balls have no zip on him, and he has no leadership qualities. It got to the point where it was embarrassing, I almost felt sorry for him out there.

At the college level he could but you can't win consistently in the NFL with a QB who can only be successful running wildcat type formations and completes less than 49% of his passes. He might can play but not QB. If he could Denver wouldn't have traded him and he wouldn't be riding the pine in NY sitting next to Mark Sanchez.

Teams win titles and games, not individuals. Look at his Bronco team, his defense was spectacular, they were a run first team and he was a game manager. In Florida he played with a great defense as well as playmakers like Hernandez,Harvin,Louis Murphy and Cooper.

And you mean Woody Johnson?

If he could perform why did Denver get rid of him? If he could perform why isn't he playing now instead of on the bench with Sanchez? There's a reason why he only runs 5 plays a game have you seen him throw? You have to pass the ball to win in the NFL. Tebow's mechanics make him very hit or miss that's why he's not playing. It takes a"consistent" passer to win consistently. He has some intangibles but he's not nearly a good enough passer to lead a team to a championship.

Gotcha, so he won those titles and Heisman's and the playoff win was because of his supporting cast? Didn't he throw for 316 and drilled Thomas in the numbers to send the Steelers home last year? Or was that his supporting cast?

And if Denver's supporting cast was so good why did Kyle Orton go 1-4 with them?

To discredit everything he's done in his entire career, 2 national titles, Heisman trophy, 7-4 career record as a starter and a playoff win - to be merely a product of his supporting cast, is pretty ridiculous.

And yeah, Woody Johnson, thanks. Can't be completely flawless all the time, but pretty ****in close.

He completed less than half of his passes vs the Steelers. He was 10-21 and hit on a few big plays one of which won the game. It was a fluke! The next week vs NE he completed only 36% of his passes and Denver got killed. Trent Dilfer was dumped immediately after winning a SB because he wasn't productive enough and it took a running game and great defense to win with him.

Denver knew they would never win consistently with an unconventional QB like Tebow who can't produce in the passing game consistently that's why they traded him. The Jets saw what Denver did that's why Tebow is on the bench with Sanchez. You will not win in the NFL with a QB who completes only 46% of their passes.

Well if it's so easy, how come Dallas couldn't do what Tebow did in 1 year, over the past 17 years?

Some people just need to learn to give the boy credit. He's a winner.

I really wouldn't mind him being brought in as a project. If they can fix his mechanics, he might be Tony's replacement. If not, so what? Sign him to 3 years for four million and make him third string.

If he's going to morph himself into an NFL player that will stick...

It would best be at tight end or full back.

Sanchez came in with Ryan so he and the organization were tied to him for a long time especially with the money they invested in him but Ryan also needs to win to save his job. If he thought Tebow gave him a chance to win he would have had him out there while the Jets still had a pulse. Even though the Jets are officially DEAD and Sanchez has been benched Tebow still isn't out there that tells you exactly what Ryan thinks of his ability to perform.

If all it takes to be a QB in the NFL is the ability to complete a slant then Troy Smith and Jamarcus Russell would be flourishing.

More because he is playing it close to the chest.

If he plays Tebow and he does well, they look like idiots and he definitely loses his job.

If if doesn't play him at all he has the insurance that he won't have the Tebow factor blow up in his face when they decide whether they're bringing him back or not.

Smart move on their part.

Then why isn't Troy Smith and Jamarcus Russell 7-4 with a playoff win?

We're acting like the Broncos were the 85 Bears or something.

No one remembers Tebow single handedly beating the Jets in their house last year?

I'm not saying he's that good, I just know he's a whole hell of a lot better than Greg freakin Mcelroy and Mark Sanchez.

Nobody single handedly beats a team. In that Jets win their defense had put together several late game stops
