Henson does not look like an NFL QB right. His arm looks tired and his confidence looks shot. That can happen to guys and it seems to have happened to Henson.
I would leave him 3rd team and send him to NFLE.
The thing is Bledsoe buys you 2 or 3 years. Because of that you dont need to decide right now if Henson is gonna get it or not. BP has a 3 year rule and I think any such rule should add a year for QB because of the position.
I think Tony Romo is a long term NFL backup and will be a good one. He can come in and win a game for you. He is not a guy you want to go with week after week because if he were game-planned against he would have things to exploit. Namely a solid but not spectacular arm. All that said his release is quick, he processes things well, shows good touch and exudes confidence. Those are simply QB traits.
Bledsoe is gonna be alright here. His throws are no where near Romo/Henson style. They have serious bite to them. They cut the air. The guy was a 1st overall pick because he can flat throw the football. His release is slow but no Hutch slow and his ability to process reads is mediocre but he is accurate and strong armed which fits a game plan revolving around Julius and play action.
I think Dallas actually has a traditional and logical QB depth chart right now.
1. Bledsoe: Strong armed veteran starter with Pro Bowl experience.
2. Romo: Journeyman type with limited upside but excellent intangibles.
3. Henson: Superb athlete and potential franchise guy who is green as grass.
I dont see any reason to fret over the QB situation nor do I see any real reason for argument here. Things are pretty much what they are and they make sense; at least to me.
