As with all of these options this is a fall back plan should the F.O. decide to play hardball with Dak and it doesn't work out.
Tag Dak with the non-exclusive tag and let him meet with teams. I suspect Dak would then sign the long term offer that has already been made. But if he didn't.
Teams I believe might sign him and give up 2 first rd picks.
N.E. if Brady leaves. They have used 1st rd picks before on QB's to sit on the bench. I could see them using 2 for a franchise QB when they have the need .
N.O. If Breese retires. They used 2 1st rd picks on a DE a couple of years ago. I could easily see them using 2 for a franchise QB if Breese retires.
Carolina, Indy, Tampa are possible as well.
Burrow, Tua, Herbert and Love will all be gone by pick 17.
That leaves Jacob Eason
6'6" Strong arm. Not extremely mobile.
was the no 1 QB prospect in the country coming out of college .
Went to Ga and was injured. While injured Jake Fromm took over and kept the job because his style of play suited the college game. Eason is the much better pro prospect. Transferred to Washington and sat out a year. Then played one full year putting up great numbers.
He reminds me of Aikman. Big with a strong arm that transferred during college.
5 years on a rookie deal that provides cap room
High upside with all of the tools.
Downside
Probably sacrifice a year or two while he develops.
Tear it up.
