Assuming Goff and Wentz go #1 and #2 what is everyone's QB preference for the Cowboys? List positives and negatives too. I think this will be a good thread for people like me who don't know a ton about the other college QB's.

I have been on board with Paxton Lynch from the get go along with Goff and Wentz. The things he lacks he can learn and the attributes he does have is something you can't teach

Paxton Lynch - Similar upside to Wentz, but has a longer road to go. Footwork and mechanics need work, but he would get it in Dallas while Romo finishes is career. Risk is that he doesn't pick up the nuances of an NFL offense since his system was so different in Memphis. But he's a smart guy and a hard worker, so I don't see it happening. I'd love to see him in Dallas after a small trade down. He's not ready to play, but that's ok.

All other QB's - no interest. I don't see anything beyond career backup material. I would ignore the position if one of the top 3 are not available.

I would go with Cook if he's available in the second round or Prescott or Hackenberg whichever is available in the third round.

Positives for Cook: Long time starter, good accuracy, good size and arm strenght. Negatives: Got hurt a bit. Leadership questions which may or may not be unfounded.

Positives for Prescott: Good size, arm strenght, winner and played vs very tough defenses in college. Negatives: A bit raw, needs developing.

Positives for Hackenberg: Good size and arm strenght. Played in a pro style offense. Has all the physical tools. Negatives appeared to have regressed his last two years. Needs time to develop and correct flaws.

Assuming Goff and Wentz are gone....

Lynch - Ceiling is very high for this player. Can fit into any system and has all the tools you need. He is not a finished product but in our situation, he has the time to develop and refine those things that need work.

Cook - Again, all the tools, needs to improve his mechanics but has all the physical tools. Cooks problems come when the play breaks down. He needs to improve his mechanics in this area and just get reps over and over on those mechanics.

Driskel - A very high ceiling but a lot more of a reclamation project. He has as good a set of tools as any QB in this draft but he is more of a project then the other two listed. On the other hand, you will be able to draft him later and there is value in that, to a certain extent.

Brandon Allen Arkansas - Improved every year he played. Really turned it up in the second half of last season. Has a quick release. Good head on his shoulders to play the position. Has pretty good accuracy. Ability to run the ball when he needs to. Great pocket awareness and movement. Will stand and deliver with rushers in his face. With that being said, has small hands for a QB, and side-arm deliver, but only sometimes.
