This is a really weak QB draft class. When looking at the 2009 QB class I see three different classes of QB's in this draft. The top tier (Stafford & Sanchez) the middle tier (Freeman, Bomar, Davis & Harrell) then the project QB's that are going to need a couple of years to develop or likely will never have any impact in the NFL. The third tier QB's are hard to project every different draft site has then rated differently they all have some positives and definite negatives. After the "2nd tier" QB's are off the board it's anyones guess who comes of the board next.

IMO the Cowboys should probably wait until the 5th round to address their QB situation. If one of the mid-tier drops into the 5th round then draft him, otherwise wait until the 6th or 7th and choose the highest rated 3rd class QB on the Cowboys draft board that's still available. Then try and bring another QB in as an UDFA to compete with him for the number 3 job.

NDS number is the round NFLDraftScout.com has the QB rated to go.

He played at Central Washington, not Washington State. Big difference in terms of competition.

I really like him and know some folks who know him, he's being told he could go as early as the 5th round.

Where he plays is Drew Bledsoe's home town so the comparisons there are rampant as they are physically similar but he's got nowhere near the arm

I am a huge Tech fan but Harrell doesn't get drafted until round 6 at the very, very earliest. He has poor measurables and an arm that would rank bottom 20% of the NFL.

The QB class will offer some decent guys in round 4 and 5 but it is weak at the top after the top 2 guys imho.

Freeman could be special eventually but I do not see him as NFL ready by a long shot.

I'd take a chance on Hunter Caldwell. He has NFL QB written all over him. He really only had 1 year at Louisville (backed up Brian Brohm) and he has some big time tools.

I agree. I watched whatever college all-star skills competition he was in and I was very impressed with the velocity he put on his throws. If I take a project QB, I'd want it to be him. I'd take him over Harrell.
