QB Trey Lance reached agreement with the Chargers

Good luck Trey Lance,

From seeing him play per preseason , and per Niners games, I dunno what the cowboys thought they could get outta him that QB guru Shanahan never could.

Worse, cowboys FO obviously thought stale bread McCarthy was the one to develop Lance ,as philly did with qb Jalen hurts.
Blah blah blah

Trading for Lance is one of the worst trades that the Cowboys have ever done, Cowboys could have used the 4th round pick last year
How was it the worse trade ever. They acquired a talented young QB that sat on the team for a year to learn. Then the next year the starter went down opening the opportunity for the young QB to get valuable playing time. Either showing improvement or if he struggled the Cowboys would have a high draft pick each round

It was the perfect situation. . . except Jerry put Trey on the shelf for some unknown reason

You are dead wrong about pre-season games. Herbert will not play a down, and they will split time between their 2 backups competing for official QB2 status. As long as Lance is on the team, this will be the scenario...100%, no argument on your end otherwise they don's sign him. Admit it or not, backups see all the playing time in the pre-season, in order to learn the condensed playbook or to at least get the rust off in case their name is called. Scrimmages/warm-ups of course mean nothing, but playing time in the pre-season is essential. Do you not agree that if Lance excelled during the pre-season audition he had with the Cowboys that he would have been extended? He was not good, they let him go it's as simple as that
He was offered a contract from Jerry. And no matter how hard Jerry tried to undermine Trey and destroy his value The Chargers still came calling

As a pocket passer Hebert has a tendency throughout his career to get injured . Interesting to see Lance start games this year or come in out of the bullpen . Surely Heineke is the break glass in case of emergency QB .

Lance will last 2 seasons on the Chargers bench. Then get cut for a 3rd time by his 3rd team. He will likely end up in the Canadian Football League.
Yes but how many millions will he have made ??????
For a guy who has hardly played and considered a bust, he has made at least 15 mil ?

I still think his best bet of earning a good NFL shot was going to the UFL. He needs playing time that he's just not going to get it on an NFL roster.
Depends of what his goals are.

Whats is he going to earn in lets say 3 years of UFL where he starts but has the goal to go back to the NFL to start there? The usual starting money for a QB in the UFL is between 200k and 400k per season.

And what is he going to earn here as a backup for 3 years? 18 mils based on his actual contract. Without the risk of maybe never making it back from the UFL to the NFL.
