I always hope they draft one but with the limited mid-round picks, they probably want to use the two first round picks on defense.

And given how many needs they have on defense, I doubt they will want to waste any of those later picks on a project quarterback when they already have one that's been in their system for a year.

Personally, I would have cut Milton and let Howell and Grier battle for the backup spot.

I'm glad we released Grier. Zero upside to keeping him. I doubt he could win us a game if we needed him in a pinch

I think Milton's legs give him an advantage over Grier.

Grier was too much like Howell so my guess is they worked out Grier and felt they could do better, so they signed Howell.

They very well may do the same thing to Howell at some point.

I agree. To add to this I wish they gave Howell more than a one year deal. I know he's got a ton of flaws but the potential is still there for him. The Cowboys lack a QB succession plan for Dak.

I am not anti-Dak, but it would be amazing if Howell develops into the future starter here. If I am not mistaken Howell is still just 25 years old.
