Here's my reasoning:

If I am a veteran free agent with a few years left and I am capable of producing at a high level then my next team will depend on whether or not I have been on a championship team.

Sufffice it to say that I have enough money and I don't necesarily have to depend on my last contract to retire on. In that case, I am going to look for a team that can win a championship. In fact, I am even willing to play for less because I know that a championship makes me more marketable for anything I might want to do after retirement. Or, it may be the missing ingredient to securing a place in the Hall of Fame.

The Dallas Cowboys would certainly be on my short list.

Which veteran free agents would fit this profile?

I'm thinking about adding some veteran experiene with the motivation to compete hard and not disrupt the present team chemistry. Would WR Pierre Garcon and DE Julius Peppers fill this role? What about guys like DT Glen Dorsey or S Donte Whitner. They may not necesarily be starters, could be situational. Im talking about low one or two year contracts. Their incentive would be a real, legitimate shot at a ring.
