Quality over quantity?

I think we would be better off trading up and getting more polished players than 5th, 6th, or 7th round cuts. After the third round it's pretty much a shot in the dark every year, we might as well move up.

Who would you trade up for and how much would you give up to do it?

In a draft considered to be fairly strong into the 3rd or 4th rounds but yet with only a few clear-cur overwhelming blue chippers, moving up from 14 seems the opposit of what you would do.
Why not get quaility AND quantity. I'd be fine not having picks below Rd4 if I knew I could get 4-5 very good players and maybe 2 great players.
But if a dream player (Claiborne?) falls to within 2-3 slots of 14, then I would think moving up could be worth it.

If we were one or two players away I would say trade up, but we aren't, we need the picks at this point

The draft is too much of a gamble to go after just a few players. Those so called polished players could easily bust. Id much rather trade back into the 1st and pick up an extra 2nd. That would give us a 1st, 2 2nds, a 3rd, and 2 4ths. That gives a much better chance of hitting on starting quality players. This draft lacks elite talent at the top, trading up seems pointless to me.

Exactly. And this is a deep draft where a team can get both.

I'm sorry, I was not clear enough. I ment trade up from the 5th, 6th, and 7th picks. I don't think we should trade up in first, maybe second.
