Quan Cosby??

Funny you say this, but I actually know Quan. I worked for him a while back for one of his football camps. He is a very nice guy, but sometimes I wonder why he surrounds himself with some of the old alumni. They're often in trouble and stuff and Quan has so much going for him.

That said, he's very short and would most definitely have to play the slot. He's a beast at returns though.

Funny thing is, he was in minor league baseball before he even played college FB. So he's a little longer in the tooth than most.

He's slot only. Shipley coming in cost him his job. Quan is good but not quite what others are

He's good. Ship is better. The funny thing is they are obviously friends... But I think people underestimate Quan a lot. And he thrives on proving them wrong.

The guy is so short. I mean, probably shorter than Glenn.

well we need someone in the slot, why not try to bring him in we can always release him if we don't get what we need from him.

Harris.

Is he available?

Really we were interested in Quan? I don't recall that. I say no to Quan. Nice guy I took boys to one of his camps

Quan Cosbie wasn't drafted (2009, not last year), so no I don't think the Cowboys were that interested. He also didn't do much in Cinci.

Other people always seem better than what we have. I always liked Cosby but I'm not sure he is an NFL caliber reciever. The guy was with the Bengals for 2 seasons and had a grand total of 6 catches for 71 yards.

Who's place is he going to take? And why?

No we're set at receiver.

For now.

And they aren't ever really hard to find if you're in a pinch either.

They aren't like tackles, CBs, and QBs.

WRs flip out and do stupid stuff all the time and most aren't typically under long-term deals.

That said, if one of our guys go down, we probably won't have a problem finding a guy off the street that is moderately better than our 3rd, 4th or 5th option.

Texas homer here and Cosby is one of my favorites ever, but I wouldn't cut any of the WRs on our roster for him. He has skills and is one helluva returner, but he is older than the rest of our guys, but still has very little pro experience.

If we are going to bring in a vet WR, I would prefer someone who has at least 200 receptions under his belt, including multiple clutch grabs.

Same here. I remember seeing him in the State Class 2A state championship game against Celina (my family's hometown team) back in 2000 or so. Celina somehow won, but we were all scared to death every time he touched the ball...which was every snap, since he was QB. He was just a monster with jetpacks at that level. After his time at Texas, I thought he had a chance to be a pretty good slot receiver in the NFL. But I like Harris' future and Quan now has the look of a journeyman, if that.

He is a very nice guy. Runs a good camp, too.

i agree, loved quan in college, but he just isnt an NFL quality receiver. I wish we could have taken shipley though. maybe in 3 or 4 years we can take his little brother, he looks like a stud so far!
