Quelching the doubts against Jaydon Blue

Yeah, and many fans had Jackson in the HOF before his foot hit that ground in rookie mini camp. Saying he was better than Zeke.

:lmao:
He was a 6th round pick for a reason. I said 2016 but he was drafted in 2018. He lasted only one season in the NFL and had only 68 yards rushing with a 2.7 average. Not saying Blue will end up like him but only time will tell if he’ll be any good.

Yes, you are saying Blue will end up like Jackson. That is exactly what you are saying. Reread all of your posts in this thread. No need to backpeddle now.

Jaydon Blue...

  • Can't run between the Tackles
  • Can't make tacklers miss
  • Can't break tackles
  • Can't be physical
  • Can't pass protect
  • Can't see the field well / no vision
  • Can't be a RB1
  • Can't be a 3 down RB
Pass protection is my only concern. He's just a little smaller than you would like. Other than that, he has the potential to be a 3 down RB1.

Imagine game 8, and the Cowboys have just received the opening kickoff. Their starting lineup takes the field. Who is the starting RB? My prediction is Blue.

..Jaydon reminds me of NO Kamara. Good speed, hands and vision.

His speed will be the difference on offense. Especially on those tight 3rd downs.

Priest Holmes profile was so "Bad" that he wasn't even drafted.

He went to be an NFL offensive player of the year. 4.6 ypc average his entire career. 3x All Pro, 3x Pro Bowl and went for 1500+ yards 3x in his career.

I'll just have to wait and see Blutarski carry the rock before I can judge the pick.....fingers crossed though
We know you're rooting against him.

He actually has shown he is willing to do it while at Texas.

Hmm...let's see...

I said it every time he got the ball.

You're my boy, Blue!

War room was chanting it when they drafted him. Hilarious.

Mostly I just need him to hold on to the rock. all other measurable s I like. He isnt Jeanty but hell do. Hes not going to be a cowbell but he can thrive in a RBBC

I am not a fan of the pick.
Guy has never stayed healthy.
I do think the Tony Pollard comp is a good one but its year 1 TP not year 4-5.
TP ran for 455 yards as a rookie and 435 as a 2nd year guy.
With that as a mark, I think Blue can hit that.

He's an explosive guy to be sure.
But highlights are a stupid way to scout any player.
Biggest issue is no bellcow pre-washed Zeke around to carry the load.

Go get Nick Chubb? Ok that can work. Blue comes in and races past a tired defense.

Texas born, played for the Longhorns… and a great 40 time… I thought this board might crash when he was picked. I like the possibilities but this board always hypes the Longhorns.

I think he could make his living on 3rd and 4+ yards catching the ball out of the backfield, or as a check down RB who can run after the catch. If you can get him into man coverage with slower, thumper LB’s he should be able to get us yardage. Needs to improve ball security and must become a solid blocking back so defenses can’t predict he’ll be running a receiver route every play he’s in there. With his size and ball security concern running between the tackles probably won’t happen much.

Coming out of college he looks a little like De’Von Achane with less production on the ground. That would probably be his ceiling, but Achane is a handful at times. Achane also has Mike McDaniel scheming for him though…. Blue has Adams/Schottenheimer…

Broaddus on Talkin' Cowboys said that the only thing wrong with him as a RB is the fumbles.

Voch was on and said that he carries the ball low and when dancing around it gets loose so if he does use the high and tight technique he can fix that. Unlike Demarco Murray who held it high and tight and still fumbled.

No way that little gnat makes any impact on this team. Jaydon Blue, lmao. Named like a porn star.

I think the kid has a shot at being a real plus for the team

Not really worried about Pass Protection; he showed he was willing but the simple fact he is too small to take on the big lbs coming in to blitz. if he works hard on his technique he can be adequate.

The fumble thing can be fixed; it has happened before. Tiki Barber fumbled a lot early in his career but fixed it.

He was behind some All Americans so no wonder he did not get a lot of touches.

Drafted: No. 149 overall

It turns out the Cowboys did not need to reach for a running back early in the draft, because the speedy Blue was waiting around to be called in Round 5, while other teams were seemingly seeking more power in their ball-carriers. The home-run hitter does run through high tackle attempts, and he flashes the balance after contact to keep those legs moving in the open field, where he turns on the jets.
