Question about a possible scenario regarding Ware's contract for captologists

Presumably we will be in an uncapped year next offseason. If we don't end up signing Ware until after this year, could Jerry overload Ware's base salary in 2010? Then he would save cap room for other seasons, and from Ware's perspective that is essentially just guaranteed money.

i think if there is an uncapped year that Ware will be a restricted free agent for 2 more years. Thats the downfall for the players.

Yep that would hurt him and others cause it would add another restricted FA year to his career. Plus I imagine they have rules in place to keep them from being able to load up the money in the uncapped year.

Just like I know they have a rule in place that if next year is uncapped that prevents teams from being able to unload a lot of big contract players, simply cause there is no cap, without being penalized.
