Question about franchise players

What if Asante Samuels or Briggs sign their Franchise tenders and say they wanna change positions... Say Samuels says he lost confidence to play CB and wants to move to WR or Briggs says he doesn't want to play LB anymore and wants to play TE, what can that team do.....

Then say the Pats continue to play Samuels at CB and in Pre season Samuels get burnt for 5 TD in 2 games and says he wants to play WR what does that team do...............

It doesn't matter. They get paid the salary for the position they were listed at as of April of the year they were tagged.

They wouldn't change to a WR's salary if they were a CB in April.

Bizarre question, but I'm pretty sure that's the answer.

players don't pick their positions. the coach tells you where to play and if you don't you will get suspended and get paid nothing.

I'm more less talking about after they sign their tenders and then when training camp comes they want to change positions, citing they lost confidence.... I know the coach tells them the position but what if Samuels starts pre season and gets burnt every other play what can the coach do.... they can't dock them money or suspend them because they are playing and not holding out....and their salary is guaranteed for the season.....

basically what I'm saying is what if that player just lost that desired to play that position after getting paid citing lost of confidence and the coach still plays them at that position and the player sucks bad, what does the team do....
