not much worked out for "historical" parcells here - not sure what difference it would make from past teams. he left us better than when he found us but short of where most people would have thought he'd take us.

it's up to the new coaches now - parcells has left teh building.

historically? all teams have done well because parcells usually leaves teams rich with young talent and well prepared for the future likes hes done with us.

Giants - floundered until Jim Fassel took over in the late 90s

Patriots - a few mediocre seasons with Pete Carroll and then three SB's in four years with an additional AFC Championship Game appearance this past season

Jets - perennial 8-8/9-7 team (aside from 2005) with Groh/Edwards/Mangini

Go look at the roster that the Pats took to that 1st SB roster (McGinnest, Bruschi, Law, Milloy, etc., etc.)

He assembled the core of that team. So please. Get your facts right.

As for the Jets, alot of the players he drafted were still quite good after he left.

You're simply wrong on your assesment. Especially on the Pats. He deserves a decent amount of credit for the Pats sucess.

who cares? Parcells never did anything here so we can only be better!!!

That is just plain ignorant. The roster is better top to bottom. Period.

Unless you're the worst, things can ALWAYS be worse. I don't think that will be the case, as the talent Parcells brought will continue to improve, but your statement is faulty.

It can always be worse.

You know, the guy that retired because of Romo. :lmao:

I thought that was TO....sorry, my bad. TO was going to keep BP here.

I was being sarcastic because of the song that surfaced about Romo after the seattle game. You know the one titled "Tony Romo" sang to the theme of "desperado" by the eagles. That guy went to all ends to show his hatred.

Embrace the Hatred

Get my facts right?

Go back and re-check the original question.

Historically how have parcells' teams done the year after he left?

I'm sorry, but that is how those teams produced in the years ABP (after Bill Parcells). Those are the facts. I don't deny that Parcells has a good track record of "picking groceries", but again that is not what was asked.

Again, the question asked how teams did ABP. Historically, they haven't produced as well without him as they did with him (with the notable exception of New England, which happened with coach #2 ABP).

Giants w/ Parcells - 2 Super Bowls
Giants w/o Parcells (1st year) - 8-8
Giants w/o Parcells (next five years) - one winning season, one playoff appearance and one playoff win

Patriots w/ Parcells - 1 Super Bowl appearance
Patriots w/o Parcells (1st year) - 10-6 and one playoff win
Patriots w/o Parcells (next five years) - two winning records, two playoff appearances, three playoff wins and one Super Bowl Championship

Jets w/ Parcells - AFC Championship Game appearance
Jets w/o Parcells (1st year) - 8-8
Jets w/o Parcells (next five years) - four winning records, three playoff appearances and two playoff wins

Go back to my original post. I said that the Pats had a few mediocre teams (8-8 and 9-7) under Carroll followed by three Super Bowls in four years.

If you wish to take my comment about three Super Bowls in four years as a negative, that's your choice, but don't fault me for it.
