I'll let the great Darren Woodson speak for me on McClain....
Woodson: "When Rolando McClain came out and Nick Saban basically stuck his neck out for him a few years ago, he came out and I thought his first year he played exceptionally well. And the word around Valley Ranch had always been that he was highly intelligent. Got guys lined up and played with a lot of energy when he was on the field. But after his first year things seemed to just go spiral down. And I know that he ended up getting that four-game suspension (in 2015) but the talk around Valley Ranch was there were times he just didn't want to play. He'd show up Wednesday, Thursday and actually didn't want to practice. They'd have to force him to practice. Show up on Friday or Saturday before a game and say, 'Hey, I'm not feeling so I'm not playing.'
"To me as a football player, there's 53 players on that roster. You're counting on all 53 guys to be available. And especially if you've gone a full week of practice, guys are expecting you to be out there on Sunday to go to battle with them. For a guy who was a captain for the Dallas Cowboys for a number of years, that is absolutely unacceptable. And to be that selfish as a person to not only check yourself out of games but to go through a suspension the last couple years, he just did not want to play the game and I just can't believe the Cowboys offered him another deal this offseason and that he still hasn't been cut. They need to separate themselves as far as possible from Rolando McClain."

I had this same stance on him months ago and one of our resident geniuses told me I was a hater.
