What would people be saying about him if he was our 1st round pick in 2006?

Why is he held to such an unbelievable standard that other QB's are not held too???

He plays in Dallas where the stars at night are big and bright deep in the heart of Texas. :laugh2:

It can be heaven or hell being the QB of the Dallas Cowboys. Personally I have faith in Tony Romo that he can do the job.

I don't know, for sure, as I wasn't on any message boards back then (Not even sure if they actually exsisted) but Troy Aikman would have likely been ripped to shreds after his first 2-3 seasons as a starter after being the #1 overall pick in the draft. I'm sure most every Cowboys fan who bags on Romo now bagged on Troy in the same way but won't admit to doing so now because they've seen the whole picture of Troy's career, and they'll just tell you they always knew.

Quite a few of the Romo haters, now, will attempt the same thing should he ever win a Superbowl or two. They'll tell you they always believed they just had to be 'real' and 'hard' on him because they just had to. Or they'll sign up under new names and pretend they were a Romo fan from the start. It all goes with the position of being the Cowboys QB.

Frankly I was not a believer in Romo at the get go, When he was behind the likes of Carter and Hutchinson or when we signed Henson. After watching Romo play over the last 2.5 years I do believe the man has the talent to help this team to a championship

A few things

1. He beat out peoples pet cats or supposedly caused their dismissals

2. he does not have the same personality as Staubach and Aikman

3. People got so excited so quick that the expectation level achieved unbelievable heights.

4. Because of the way our news and internet are these days ..... he is always in the news. (if Staubach or Aikman was QB in this age they would be too)

5. He dates pretty girls and wears his hat backwards.

I heard Colin Cowherd say that because he wears his hat backwards that he will never be a great QB. That is shows he doens't take it seriously.

Ridiculous

I thought everyone knew that is you wear a baseball cap backwards you are unable to play the QB position. 1st thing a coach teaches a QB. :lmao:

Unless your name is Ben Roethlisberger, then you can wear your hat backwords and it's ok.

IMO it is only partly due to playing in Dallas. We have seen several no names or retreads over the past decade to know difference between the coverage Romo gets vs. the others. Maybe QC could relate but none of the others were followed/nagged the way Romo is.

1. He blasted onto the scene.
2. He performed at a high level for long stretch.
3. Made amazing plays.
4. Terrible QB play in Dallas for so left the town and the fans wanting for a real QB. Romo provided that.
5. Dating celebs after becoming starter in Dallas.
