with the new Thursday night package split between two networks and the streaming to another source wont that raise the cap even more. its reported that each network will pay 225 million each. for the rights for two years

When all's said and done, I estimate that the cap for NFL teams in 2016 will be between 154 - 156mil.
With some releases and restructures, we will have all the cap space we need to get whomever Jerry wants.
I just hope to heck it's not a Manzelli.

The thing to remember is that it is all relative....there are still going to be a lot of teams with more money to spend than they Cowboys....and the players and agents are gonna want a bigger share of the bigger pie.

With players from that draft class already being considered for contracts, it might not be a bad idea to open up negotiations with Frederick to see what he is going to cost us. Doubtful but maybe we could get him cheaper now versus waiting a year.

Considering what's happening to ESPN. I suspect in the near future. The cap is going to go down. :)

Absolutely...He's a Cowboy for life if I'm Jerry for a day.

ESPN is dragging down Disney Stock....if they wouldn't hate the Cowboys, and show them some love, things would turn around for them. As well as Disney stock.

These owners are just banking. Anyone see some of these MLB contracts lately.? .270 hitters getting 180 million Dollar deals, and of course fully guaranteed.

Not anytime soon.

Sports programming is the last best way to get 'real' eyeballs on the ads. Most people don't DVR sports and the companies know this and pay the premium.

ESPN went crazy with the NBA rights deal and their overall budget is bloated but the NFL is still the king of TV and the revenues are locked in until the early 2020's.
