If you are the agent for DWare why would you take anything less than Haynesworth?

Now with the release of Ellis, Wares value is limitless in addition to 98s cap #, points to Ware being the highest paid defender by a wide margin.

In Jerrys back pocket is Ware playing on the last year of his contract... I can't see his agent advising him do that and I can see Jerry taking full advantage of the situation.

The situation is much like when Emmitt wanted his second contract.

Money isn't the issue. How Ware's contract will impact the team's salary cap for years is.

Ever since the Emmitt fiasco ..... Jerry has taken care of all his star players.

Every time.

Ware is gonna be an incredibly rich man and play for the Cowboys at least until he is in his mid 30's or his skills start to decline.

Not worried at all.

The Cowboys have always intended for him to be the highest paid Defensive player in the NFL. They're just working out details and both sides are taking their time rather than rushing.

I agree this deal will get done.

I honestly think the reason this deal is taking time is just because both sides want to make it a fair deal, but make it's a good deal for both sides. Ware doesn't strike me as the stupid and greedy type. He seems like a real family man outside of football, and I think he just wants to make sure he gets the best deal for them. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a 'smaller' contract than Haynesworth, but one in which he'll actually get paid more guaranteed money. I guess only time will tell.

Fat Albert is overpaid... I think that Ware will receive something in between Harrison and Haynesworth... No question Ware is the best at his position.. But so was Freeney at the time he got his contract.. 100 million is alot to be tied up on one player.. Especially if he's one chop block away from getting hurt...

We are talking CAP money with Ware, what about endorsement money. Didn't Michael Jordan make more money in endorsements than he did in salary...Why, because he was the MVP of a championship team.

I know its a risk vs. guaranteed money, but if Ware left a little on the table so that we could build a better team around him, he could actually end up with more money in the long run and have a couple of Superbowl rings.

Just a thought but I'd betcha they discuss this a little bit at least.

No doubt the hold up is the legal mumbo jumbo and how the money is paid out. The actual amount is most likely known between both sides.

Ware is not a big flash put my face on TV type of person.
If the endorsements come his way then he will take them.

NFL players do not make off the field money like the NBA, MLB or PGA players do. I bet Ware would be lucky to get a 20%-30% of his NFL salary in endorsements where as the other major sports the big time players make more than their yearly salary.

Alberts contract is all show. He won't play the contract out and will never see all that money. You take less than Albert knowing that your client will be able to play the contract out and get the full value of the contract.

What would you rather have.

50% of 100 million

or

100% of 60 million

I think the money is more of an ego thing IMO. How much money is enough? Is $50 Million enough? That would set his family up for the rest of their lives for generations if it was taken care of wisely. You see people take cuts from time to time to insure that they have a good supporting cast around them. Maybe Ware will do the same thing. Yes, he is the best defensive player in the NFL IMO, and he is a class act, but does he really need over $100 million at the detriment to other people on the team that will need to be playing in order for us to take the next step?

I wonder....
