I like the draft depth of both, however I think the depth of DT more....

In an ideal world id say DT but I would never pass on a guy like Murphy or Early just to take a DT. So best available D lineman is the correct answer

^^Yup. Our whole DL is crappy so best DLineman avaliable, but I think DT is a bigger need.

Aaron Donald DT from Pitt. The guy is unreal at the 3-tech position.

Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly called Donald a "one man wrecking crew".

I don't care as long as it's a dlineman.

Murphy is the very top of my list based on where the team is selecting.

We have Bass, Crawford and Selvie, which may not be grade A starters but it is something. After Hatcher is gone we have ______ nothin.

I wouldn't want to answer until we are closer to the draft...for example, if the Cowboys free up money and go out and get 2 FA DL from other teams and get spencer to stay on a reasonable 1-year deal, then DL, while still important, may not be the biggest need

...BPA approach is what is needed so how the team plugs holes prior to the draft will determine if they truly have a BPA approach; if nothing else, they should have a "Lines" BPA approach

Are we cutting Ware?

If so, DE is a need pick at that point. We'd have to focus on a guy like Trent Murphy or even trade up so we're in the mix for Clowney / Barr / Mack. Almost impossible to find a DE past round 1 that can hold his own immediately. I really like Michael Sam at Missouri or Marcus Smith at Louisville and a couple others in rounds 2-3, but they'd be situational rush men early. I don't agree that DE has good draft depth this year...or really any year.

With DTs, you can sub around weaknesses and find contributors throughout the draft. It also seems more possible that you'll find someone who takes to NFL level training and you hit a home run.

So much of the DT position is about leverage, hand technique, and effort. At DE, if they can't turn the corner like a speed skater, they're no better than a 4-7 sack-a-year guy if you're lucky. Better hope they can play the run.

This. Donald's ONLY issue (and it could be a legitimate concern) is height. He HAS to measure AT LEAST 6' even or more to be even a 2nd Rounder. If he does, he'll be fine. But, the best way to help him is pair him with a legit 1T with size like Nix.

Yeah, but in the Dallas 4-3 at the 3-tech position his lack of size wouldn't be an issue at all. He is almost as tall as Warren Sapp if he isn't as tall.

Donald's lack of height/size is the only reason we might actually have a shot of drafting him.

Have you seen the video I posted in the other thread about him? If you haven't you should watch it and see for yourself how he plays. Also make sure you have sound because you need to hear what the announcers are saying about him. It is clear that he is constantly making plays.

Glover was a tad over 6 feet but he weighed 270 his senior year at San Diego State.

John Randle was 6-1 240 his senior season in college. By his 5th year in the NFL he weighed 275 pounds.

In the correct type of defense, Daniel is plenty big.
