If we win ONE of next 2, and Giants win next 2, and we beat Giants, do we win division ??

Assume we beat Tampa and lose to Philly.

Thanks

Yes we would win the division.

No, we would not. The Giants would have a better common opponents record than us. We need to beat Philly to make Week 17 meaningful. The Tampa Bay game really doesn't have much meaning.

Ok my bad I thought our common opponents record was better.

It would have been if we had beaten Arizona :bang2:

it's more that lions game that is the issue now. they have the tiebreaker on us because of that epic collapse.

The Tampa game is basically meaningless unless the Giants lose to the Jets or something, which is possible.

But yeah, that Arizona game :(.

But no point looking to the past just yet. If we can beat Philly, that Week 17 matchup is gonna be siiiick. Either that or I'll be sick.

The TB game has wildcard implications. And it could have division championship implications. It's not meaningless, we just don't need it as badly as we need the Eagles game.

Yeah but it has no divisional championship implications if they beat Washington and the Jets though, right? Is there some wacky tiebreak that can come into effect?

And as for the wild card, won't it be pretty tough with Atlanta up 1.5 games, Detroit up 1 game, and Chicago probably holding the tiebreak for common opponents (way too lazy to look this up, but they beat Philly and Detroit once, right?)?

I don't know. I'd still say I'm young (21), and I've only seen one playoff win, and I feel like I've been kneed in the balls a bunch of times (a lot by the Cowboys, some by the Giants, ugh). But I still feel as if we've got this division.

It's 4:19 in the morning and I'm a homer.

The Tampa game only loses its meaning if the Giants don't win out and Dallas wins week 17.

That's a lot of ifs. We need to beat Tampa.

That is pretty much where I stand. We got 3 games we need to get on some type of roll might as well start with TB this weekend. :D

...That's only one if? If Dallas wins Week 17, the Giants won't win out.

Look, we need to beat New York for the division. If we beat Philly too, that Tampa game is pointless.

Now losing the Tampa game would suck, and it would mean that we would most likely HAVE to beat Philly (unless NY loses to washington or the jets)

If we lose to Tampa, we'd need NYG to lose and then for us to beat them.

As bad as the last two games have been, we still hold our fate in our hands if we win out. Losing to Tampa changes that entirely because our playoff lives are then dependent on the Gints losing to someone else. Plus, we still have to play Philly, that's not going to be a gimme

Is that still true if they lose to the Jets and / or Commanders? They still have two games vs common opponents.

No, we wouldn't.

We're 7-6. If we lose to Tampa then beat New York and Philly, we'd have a 9-7 record, and our NFC East record would be 4-2. (2-0 vs. Washington, 1-1 vs. Philly, 1-1 vs. New York).

New York is 7-6. If they beat Washington and the Jets and they lose to us, they'd also have a 9-7 record, but their NFC East record would be 3-3 (1-1 vs. Washington, 1-1 vs. Philly, 1-1 vs. Dallas).

All we have to do is beat Philly and New York to win the division. No questions asked.

With that said I don't want to see them lose to Tampa.
