I was thinking about this for a moment, given the "inside source" that told MikeD17 that Henson was going to be cut in 2 weeks. Highly, highly questionable, but none the less, it did raise this question.

When is the last time Parcells gave up on a player that really "made it" in the NFL?

Anyone know?

Antonio Bryant.

But given how the Browns didn't want him and he has horrible hands and guys like Roy, Campbell, and even Woodson (whom I've NEVER heard saying anything but great things about teammates) bash the guy...I'm glad we got rid of him.

Rich..........

I really cannot put AB in the MADE it area yet- he has had one good season and that is it.

Bryant has "made it"? That's news to me.

A better example is Hugh Douglas. But that was because of a poor scheme fit more than anything else.

I'll start by saying that I'm neither pro nor con on Henson, so it's strictly curiousity on my part to see what happens to him. The "proof" so many writers keep bringing up about Parcells is that he benched Simms in his first year with the Giants. Somehow, something that happened 17 years ago "proves" he doesn't know about QBs. I think there have been players over the years that really didn't like him & went elsewhere. He did trade Keyshawn from the Jets to the Bucs, but that was after he became GM. It wasn't because he didn't like Key (obviously) but purely a business decision. And, as Gallowaste reminds us over & over & over & over & over is that the team didn't sign Delhomme--altho a recent article said that was Jerruh's decision because he still believed in Carter/Hutchinson & Bill went along with it.

It was a financial decision with Delhomme. We didn't want to pay for him. We had two cheap unknowns and it came down to money. That's Jerry Jones' domain. Not Coach Parcells'. At any rate, it is well known that Delhomme was a player that Parcells really liked. So it's difficult (and wrong) to suggest anything other than what you just said.
