Hey Stephen Jones-

I have a quick question for you. Been noticing you talking a great deal recently in public about your expectations for your higher paid players to exhibit some leadership.

Which then begs the question for you as this organization’s #2 leader: What do you do to model leadership around here for all your employees?

Everything I’ve learned about organizational leadership says if leaders want to see leadership from their employees, it needs to start at the top.

For example, if an organization wants to see the very important component of accountability for its employees, it must first have accountability at the top. Without leaders at the top being accountable for their mistakes, it becomes impossible to have it anywhere else in the organization.

And Stephen - calling employees out publicly, saying they need to exhibit some leadership. Saying of your most talented employee who is due for a raise, that he “needs to want to get paid” before getting paid…it’s the epitome’ of hypocrisy coming from you - A guy who started his career on 3rd base with absolutely no qualifications or accountability.

Stephen, maybe it’s time YOU started acting like the leader you were appointed to be. It’s actually past time for you to start proving you aren’t just a rich kid whose Daddy gave you a powerful job you never earned.

"Lead by example"

but in Dallas it's:

"Do as I say, not as I do"

The Jones family fans are gonna hit this thread and strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to say anything bad about Stephen or Jerry.

Stephen Jones is not "supposed" to be a leader. I'm absolutely sure the players do not expect him to be one either.

This!!!

But, I suppose the definition of leadership changes when it comes to the Cavemen.

It's just the mantra du jour. We've heard it 100 times already from those two this season
We hear it 100 times a day, around here. Nothing has changed, other than taking away from talking football.

Stephen Jones is a self-made man, who struggled early in life with dyslexia, mathematics, and an uncontrolled eating disorder that continues to plague him to this day. Stephen has largely been successful because of his unmatched work ethic; a true passion for sports, women, and song (except for that hack George Strait); as well as a determination to succeed at all costs. His memorization of the salary cap rules has been truly impressive and his penchant for pizza, wings, and burgers is only exceeded by his love of call girls, a real chip off the old block. One can assume, like his sour puss pappy, that some of Stephen's best traits are hubris, bullying, and provoking players about their pending contracts. Few know that Stephen has won the Dallas County Hot Dog Eating Contest three years in a row and remains one of the founding members of the Highland Park championship bowling team, "Fatso & the Dallas City Dough Boys".

What does he do, he and his daddy sign the paychecks....that is the glaring difference between us and most FOs. They live in the mind of many fans, keeping them on the hook and coming back everyday. They keep the media talking and criticizing, while putting money in their pockets. That's what they do, they make money and use the fans, to do it. I can picture Stephen, sitting with Jerry and laughing as they look at their bank accounts. Many players do the same, they're learning from the best.

Ranch I can only speak for me as a fan. I keep coming back every year to watch the Cowboys in hopes they will win something of significance despite the Jones boys.

Those guys have proven they have the business savvy to practically print money. While also proving they are clueless how to put together a great roster in the salary cap era.

They keep counting their money while the better teams are polishing their Lombardis.
