Do you think that Wade would be gone right now if Tony were not on the shelf?

Not asking if he would have eventually been gone anyway or anything like that. Just if he would be gone now if Tony had not been injured?

Amazing to me that a simple decision such as a rookie FB being put into a certain personnel package by the OC who is now the new HC, could have potentially caused Wade to lose his job. Not trying to say that this was planned or anything like that so before you tinfoil guys get all fired up, don't. Just wondering what you guys thought.

It never ceases to amaze me how something, seemingly so insignificant as a Rookie missing an assignment, could be such a big thing. I suppose that's football.

Let's not fool ourselves our problems were there before Romo's injury, so i believe he still would have gotten the axe, he lost the team.

Exactly.

If the team quits you're going to lose with or without Romo.

So yes. Wade, as I predicted after the Jacksonville game, would've been fired after the GB game.

I think that is a hard question to answer and that there is no wrong answer to the question. I don't think that Wade would have lasted the season even without the Romo injury, but at the same time I wouldn't waste anytime on a pissing contest with someone saying the exact opposite.

Clearly there were problems before Romo went down, but Dallas was competitive in every game. In every game since Romo wend down they have not been competitive.

So yes, IMO Wade would still be here.

I think Romo going down had nothing to do with Wade's demise. Wade demeanor rubbed off on the players...there is usually that sayinjg that nice guys finish last. Well...guess what?

Good question.

I doubt he'd be fired at this point, but he probably still would've been at the end of the year. So it's probably all the same anyway.

No, it would not have happened so fast if Romo were still playing.

I think if Romo were still playing, we'd be 2-6 at worst and probably 3-5 because I think we hold on to the 20-7 lead and beat the Giants.

At 3-5, we'd have still had a slight chance, and the rest of the season would have been slow agony trying to overcome our horrible pass defense to try to salvage an 8-8 season.

Romo's injury made Garrett the head coach, gave us a higher draft pick, cost Romo and probably a few other players a Pro Bowl, and had no effect on the playoffs in any way.

Some how he lost the team in camp. If not now he would have been gone
at seasons end.

It seems rather obvious , just by watching this team for most of this season, that the team quit on Wade. Romo's injury shouldn't be an excuse for the the team to tank. Good teams rally around one another when one of their leaders gets lost due to injury. Romo's injury was just the icing on the cake.

well I would have fired Wade this last off season

that would have given Garrett time to pick his own staff

I hate that Jerry may have an easy out now with Garrett

being stuck with PP as DC

and DeCamillis as ST

Well those are the same shortcomings Wade had, Jerry picked most of his staff as well.

I think we'd have been more competitive and Wade would have been fired postseason.

Agreed...

I agree.

As long as the team looked semi-competitive, I think Jerry would have probably stayed with Wade, but the buttkicking against the Jags and, especially, the Pack probably woke him up to what needed to be done.

Had Romo not gotten hurt, I think those games would have been closer. We might have even won one, and Jerry might not have pulled the trigger at this time.
