Compare Manuel Johnson to Mark Clayton from a few years ago. It looks to me like they have similar dimensions. Do the comparisons start and stop right there?

I think Clayton had more shift but they are very close everywhere else.

Johnson was going to get big numbers last year before that freakish elbow accident happened.

Im happy he's a Cowboy. I think he will do just fine here w/ Travis Wilson.

I remember that elbow deal....man that was sick!

I thought he was a stud last year....IMO he was OU's best WR.

We will see I guess.

I think Clayton was just a really tough "gamer" -- a guy you just knew was going to give you everything he had.

Not to say that MJ isn't, but he's not in the same league as Clayton.

I was impressed with MJ all season long as a receiver, though. I thought he was not far behind Iglasias at all.

And I was really impressed with his toughness after the elbow injury. It looked absolutely devastating at the time, and he didn't even miss a game after it, if memory serves me right.

Gah, I forgot that you were an OU fan!

Having lived in Big 12 country, I saw plenty of OU games last year and I agree with you. In college, it just didn't seem like Iglesias was significantly better than Johnson. In fact, if there roles had been reversed, I think that Manny easily could have been a 1,000 yard WR. Even as a UT fan, I'm happier with this pick than I would have been with Quan Cosby.

Mark Clayton is a better player than Manuel Johnson. Mark Clayton has much better jukes and moves than Manuel Johnson. I think Clayton could return punts if a team needs him to. I just think he had bad quarterback play until last season, since he's been in the NFL. I think Mark Clayton has a chance to really do some good things in the NFL, now that Flacco is the quarterback in Baltimore. That being said, Manuel Johnson is a good player and he has some upside. He fits what the Cowboys need. He is a slot with nice speed and might be capable of breaking some big plays in the NFL. I think Manuel Johnson was a nice pick in the 7th round.
