Question for the Superstitious

With the kick off coming for our 2016 season this Sunday, me and family will be watching while wearing our Cowboy's garb. For me, it's a sensitive topic in that I have some superstitions that believe it or not, influence what I wear. If I'm wearing a jersey, shorts, pants, etc on a game day where Dallas loses, it's offed - you'll never see me picking up a found coin on tails.

So the question is....are you superstitious in what you wear too? Stay with what wins and move on from items where they lost? Does your garb reset itself every season? lol Sounds ridiculous, can't help myself but interested....

I was actually going to post something similar. I am totally superstitious when it comes to this. If they are winning that jersey doesnt get washed until they lose. I also do no let any cowboys gear touch the floor ever. I am also superstitious to the point where i actually believe that when i buy a jersey and that player gets injured. Its my fault somehow.

I can see how superstitions have an effect on players, so if wearing that same pair of socks puts their mind at ease then I'm all for it. As a fan you can wear what you want becuase it makes no difference on the game's outcome,,, though it might make you feel better,,, so I'm all for it. :)

I always wear a Cowboys foam finger on my right hand and twirl nunchucks with my left. I do the nunchucks every time Bailey kicks a field goal. More often then not, Bailey makes them. I spin the chucks faster for longer field goals.

Typically I'll enjoy a few cold ones while watching the 'Boys, and I have a pretty nice collection of beer mugs. I'll pick one mug to start the season, and use only that mug till they lose, then switch to a different mug, and repeat.

Needless to say, I clearly didn't pick the right mugs last year. My bad guys...will try to do better this time around...

When i used to go to hockey games 40+ times a year id cycle through to different jerseys only after losses. For football games i kept getting players that ended up leaving the team so i stopped getting them. I never wear any gear if im not going to the game. Its not superstitious i just needed to develop a system that would allow me to put no thought into what i wore.

I'm not superstitious at all, but my friend is. Its pretty funny. She and I went to the Cowboys/Rams game in STL in 2014. We were down 21points at one time. She went out to the car and changed outfits. She has quit watching games on TV because they are losing, and she feels like if she doesn't watch, they'll win.

Used to be very superstitious during the doo dah days of the early 90's. Nothing seems to work these days and then I eventually began to realize it was not the chair I sat in or the jersey I was wearing. Those Superbowls were to product of a very well coached team with clear leadership and direction.

I was at that game too. I was going to the bathroom when Dez Bryant scored his long touchdown pass. So now whenever we need a score I go sit in the bathroom.

I'm just kidding, I don't sit in the bathroom but everything else I said was true.

Funniest thing that weekend: we stayed in Collinsville, IL., and someone told us to check out this country bar down the street from our hotel. It was big, with a HUGE dancefloor. I kid you not when I say EVERYONE was line dancing to every.single.song. Tupac? Line dance. Green Day, Metallica? Line dance. We couldn't stop lol.

I won't call anyone out on any of their superstitions, but superstitions are a lot more fun and effective when they are winning.

Sadly Ive been know to do a mid game jersey switch, this often helps. Ive even rotated between offensive and defensive series, at that point we are already screwed.

I have 2 superstitions. 1: Leading up to the game I play the current version of Madden on my PS4 (or PS3 or xbox360 depending on time frame) and play as the Cowboys until I beat the team I am playing. So this week before the game I have to beat the Giants in Dallas stadium before gameday or I feel like I haven't done my job during the week. My 2: is I bring 3 jerseys and if the player isn't playing well I take his jersey off and put a different one on. If I run out of jerseys I put on a Dallas Cowboy sweatshirt or Tee shirt depending on how hot or cold it is.

I also have a lucky Cowboys football that me and my nephews throw around during the game, and we take turns holding it on offense and defense, so if we need a big play my nephew (who's about 10) will scream "audible" and whoever is holding the ball throws it to the other person to confuse the opponent. So I guess I have 3 superstitions.
