McNabb is staying in Philly until Kolb gets the start. Kevin Kolb is gonna be dangerous too, and probably will be a force to be reckoned with too.

This wont happen. Andy Reid will not let McNabb go to the Vikings. He will not let McNabb and Childress get a ring before him.

LOL...I dont think he has to worry about that...none of them do

If Favre were to really call it quits now, and McNabb was available, there is no way Childress wouldn't pick him up...

I don't know if it will actually happen but I do believe that it could. I could see, if Favre retires, the Vikings possibly looking into trying to get McNabb from Philly.

The thing is that I don't believe Andy Reid will agree to McNabb being traded. McNabb is Andy's QB.

Supposedly Childress still loves Tarvaris Jackson.
People just cannot appreciate how much Favre bailed him out. Childress does not even get within shouting distance of a Super Bowl with what he wanted to march out there at QB. Jackson simply cannot play. Rosenfels is about as average as you can get.

the problem with Minny is that Favre likely wont make his "final" decision until start of season. So minny is handcuffed this year ....its either favre or Jackson. McNabb will play another year in Philly then they will start to hand things over to Kolb. I do know...if Favre and Warner retire....Dallas just got better :bicep:

Reid loves McNabb and would never just get rid of him to anyone. But I am sure he would unload him on his little bald friend in Minnesota if he offered something he wanted.

I saw on the bottom line ticker that Favre said that is is "highly unlikely" that he will be coming back.

Let's say he doesn't. Do you think the Vikings make a trade for Mcnabb? They are clearly in win now mode and their window is closing IMO. There's no way they go into the 2010 season with Sage Rosenfels right??

I heard Clayton's segment too.................

This McNabb to Minnesoata deal has been talked about alot on WIP, they think it's a prefect fit givin the Reid- Childress connection and they think the Vikings late First round pick is about the right asking price.

If I were running the Eagles, I would go ahead and get started with Kolb right now. They would still be a playoff type team with him. Reid has shown he can win without McNabb. He's also shown he can lose with him in the playoffs, repeatedly.

several in the Eagles front office think McNabb was the least of their problems but just had too many young players at skill position that made typical mistakes. If u put Kolb in there...u have a VERY inexperienced QB trying to direct bunch of young WR and RB who dont really know what there doing yet. McNabb problably stays another year....then they head into 2011 with Kolb and those WR/TE/RB heading into their 3rd seasons. Reid was the point man on drafting McNabb (with enormous public pressure to draft Ricky Williams)..so Reid is going to hang onto McNabb until it starts costing them games.

Kolb showed real promise. If I were the Eagles, I would see what I could get for McNabb. If I could get anything near a 1st round pick or good young talent, I would trade him in a heartbeat.

Would Vikes take Tebow over McNabb?
12:18PM ET
Donovan McNabb | Eagles | Interested: Cardinals?, 49ers?, Rams?, Panthers?, Jaguars?, Bills?, Commanders?, Vikings?, Browns?
Top Email
Hypothetical destinations for No. 5

* If Kurt Warner retires, there is a football home where McNabb makes his offseason home in Arizona. Reports say that the Cards' WRs don't have faith in Matt Leinart.
* Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News suggested the 49ers make a move for McNabb, but we think it would destroy Alex Smith's newly found confidence.
* The Bills could use a veteran passer while they draft and develop their next franchise gunslinger. Same goes for the Rams (who might actually want Donovan's teammate, Mr. Vick).
* Jason Campbell might be back in D.C., but if not, it's a similar situation to Buffalo: The Commanders need a veteran as a stopgap while they develop the future franchise QB.
* The Browns have two unstable QBs, and their new GM was in Philly for most of McNabb's career.
* The Jaguars and Panthers both have some pieces in place but could use an upgrade at QB.

Have we seen the last game for Donovan McNabb in Philly? Unlike teammate -- and fellow Pro Bowl sub -- Quintin Mikell, McNabb was not available to the press on Monday following his promotion to the Pro Bowl, which makes you wonder ...

If he is done with the Eagles, it could dovetail nicely with Brett Favre's last game in Minnesota, in that Vikings head coach Brad Childress -- who coached McNabb for seven years -- might be in the market for a veteran replacement, given the nausea-inducing alternatives (Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels). We think Vikes fans would take a little of McNabb's Willie Beamen impression over those two 10 times out of 10.

Update: Apparently our speculation on McNabb-to-the-Vikes has started a bit of chatter on Twitter. As for the Vikings' blogosphere, the Daily Norseman argues that the team needs a QB of the future, not a veteran, and thus they should draft Tim Tebow instead of trading for McNabb. For a team on the cusp of greatness, we're not sure drafting a "project QB" is the right idea.

NFL Insider Adam Schefter emailed in Monday morning with some insight as to why the Vikings are a particularly intriguing choice:

Adam Schefter

Connections aplenty for Donovan in Minny

"Been waiting on this scenario for years. So if Favre does walk away -- and the thinking today, six months before it really matters is he will -- then Minnesota would be expected to make a play for Donovan McNabb. Why not? The Eagles have three quarterbacks, McNabb's value might never be higher than it is now, and just remember this: Vikings coach Brad Childress would love to be able to go from 4 to 5 if Favre retired. And as if that weren't enough, the Vikings quarterbacks coach, Kevin Rogers, was McNabb's quarterbacks coach at Syracuse. So ponder that one in the days and weeks ahead."

I'd be shocked if he didn't come back.

He just likes having the attention of people talking about him (Will he come back?), and he also probably just wants to skip training camp.
