Love the signing but does anyone know why KC with ample cap space didn't want him?

According to there fans the owner and Pioli are cheap skates and are trying to do the Patriots deal by not signing big deals. There fans are livid and cussing them as we speak.

They would have too much money in the secondary with Flowers, Berry, Routt.

Have big money tied up in Berry and there other corner.

They had to place the franchise tag on Bowe too. I think they tried to sign Carr but realized he wanted too much and went out and signed Routt.

I guess they gambled on Routt rebounding in KC, and save some money?

Cause they are very dumb and trying to save some money at the last minute before they have to meet the cap floor next year.

Next year, they will have to overpay someone out this world for no reason other than stupidity.

I asked that and was told, "Pioli wants his stamp on the team."

I assumed that to mean anyone on the team paid big money would be brought in on his watch.

Which makes no sense at all.

You have holes, you have money, what's the problem?

A perceived misallocation of resources?

Sounds like a good way to lengthen the process in going from bad to good.

This idea has never made a single bit of sense to me.

If DB is your weakest link, why would you not address it if you had more than enough cap space to do it and whatever else you wanted?

I read one fan, who was very upset that Carr was allowed to walk, who said that it was obvious the Chiefs were becoming the Kansas City Royals of the NFL. Young talent is developed and then upon entering their prime years, the big teams swoop in and sign them away.

I liked the sound of that from a Chiefs fan.
