Question on Romo

You gotta admit, though... the guy's Einstein compared to Jessica Simpson.

OK, I've been at the top of "what happened to Romo in Dec" I have never thought it was Jessica, I give him more credit than that. But considering his Father only found out this week that his cancer was gone, that is big. I have a friend right now that we are in the worrying stage on, and believe me it is a daily if not hourly thought and prayer. Also TO told NFLN, that he was the one responsible for the Cabo trip. He suggested, bought, and paid for it as an apology for what he had said earlier about Jessica. It was not a thoughtless "Romantic " getaway.
It is amazing what a change of attitude one can have when God reveals a few truths to us.
I fully believe in Tony and that he will come out smokin' and ready. He wants a Superbowl more than anyone on this board. I'm with him, lets go.

What's the perception about him?

But be realistic and objective. I know I been more then a little ticked off at how he's performed for a while now. His overthrows, his ducks, and mostly his inability, or lack of want to run with the ball. Rather waiting for a bg play to open up, and the result is un-needed pressure thats applied by him waiting for something to open up, when all can be avoided by him tucking the ball, and getting 6 or 7 yrds.

There's no doubt that he has the talent, and he's a franchise QB. But is he feeling the hype too much? Does he think he's better then what he is at the moment? There no doubt in my head that Romo will go down as one of the best QB's in Cowboys History when its all said and done. But, he's not there yet. He doesnt have the talent to carry the Cowboys. Games where he hasnt had Terrell Owens has proven that. Not yet anyways. Will he ever have it? Who knows.

Dallas is 13-3 all is good. But is Romo setting himself up, trying to be in the limelight just a little too much? If dallas' loses he'll be thrown under the bus by everybody, and it will be deserved.

I think you have mixed gossip with some valid points and one has nothing to do with the other.

Perception: He said he didnt care what people thought and I believe him. I can relate. Its all about me and what I can do for me and to help others. If someone has a problem with me or anything I do. I really dont care.

Realistic and objective:

I think you make some good points here. He has been off - it concerns me. But I feel he will prevail.

I most certainly agree about waiting too long for a big play. Running for the 1st down could very well lead to opening up big plays during the coarse of the game. I think he is taking the big plays away by waiting for them too long. He needs to run.. especially now in the playoffs.

I do wonder if he is getting a little ahead of himself... maybe a little full of himself... but if I had to guess I would say no he isnt.

The limelight:
I think he is just enjoying the new/extra attention and like any other normal human being maybe he is having fun with it and maybe even abusing it... but hey... not a big deal... I do think he will learn how to be less out in the open with those things in the future.

I just want him to run when its there. Thats what I took away most from this post.

Is Romo supposed to tell Jessica Simpson to BEAT IT if she expresses an interest in dating him??? Come on, man. I think his sore thumb coupled with TO being out had a detrimental effect on our team. Those two things messed us up more than Jessica did. More power to Tony if he wants to date whomever!

its good to think, but i doubt its realistic

SO you don't think that the Cowboys can win without TO?

Everyone else on this team, a team with 11 pro bowlers isn't good enough to beat a wild card team?

Holy cow! That's unreal.

I wish people would stop and count their blessings once in a while.

I'll take Romo and his "off the field" stuff over Mick Vick's off the field stuff anytime.

After the years we have went through with Quincy and Chad and Bledsoe and the rest of the peanut gallery, we need to get down on our knees and thank God for Romo every day of the season.

The guy went 13-3 and secured home field advantage in the playoffs in HIS FIRST FULL STARTING SEASON......and it's not over yet. If we win this Sunday, and I am highly confident that we will, I will be in full-on Romomania.

nice response. i can see where ur coming from too. While i think he's great, and he's the future for this franchise. I do think he's letting the success get to his head a little. Thats basically what i mean by he's setting himself up for a big fall.

I say this because basically he's the man now. Wether he deserves it or not he is. Wether he deserves the lame or not, its his.

Totally agree.
