Do think JG will let yet another team come in to town and feature their RB and get better results than we do with Zeke? Will JG let the opposing QB get more rushing yards, more rushing attempts than the best RB in the game?

For all the talk about our passing game, Dak , Cooper, Austin, Rico etc., our team goes as Zeke goes. Zeke needs at least 20-30 carries a game minimum. Every game. Why are we trying to preserve him? Why JG doesn't sell out to make that happen is amazing to me. With the way this team is built and the defense playing like they are Parcells would have this team undefeated at this point.

I have no faith in Garrett to make any positive impact.

The players need to overcome our coach.

Either Dak has to be Romo like or the Oline needs to get back to it's 2014 / 2016 form and impose their will.

Relying on anything from Garrett is just stupidity.

I don't think we are trying to persevere him, but when he's only getting one and two yards a carry in the beginning of games the coaches call more pass to avoid the third an longs that have plagued this offence.

The hope is that Cooper will be able to take a defender out of the box--which is is more than capable of (unless we motion him into block and he brings his defender back, lol).

It's really sad that on live television Romo basically says that what Dak needs to do to be successful is go rogue and ignore the plays the coaches are calling in. If he was 5+ year vet in the system I could see it but he's still green. There's no way he has the capacity to do that in just his 3rd year.

Depends on game situations and what the new approach will be on offense with Colombo as OL coach now.

Of course it's going to be rough early on in games with teams focusing on shutting our run game down. How many times have we heard the 'wear them down' theme? Is that just small talk? Can it be that easy to take what we do away from us?

Garrett has one gameplan and thats to out execute

Hes not an xs and os guys

Hes a “fit this round peg in the triangle hole and if it dont fit you didnt execute properly” kinda coach

No coach just lets the opponent run at will. With teams stacking the box and run blitzing to take zeke away it's been hard sledding for zeke. So yea do they want to run zeke 30 times yes, but it only makes sense if they are successful. But if you watch then you'll notice zeke is getting alot more 1-2 yard runs than he used to.

If? We're not even trying and we have one the league leading rushing attacks.

How are we not trying? Zeke is our only weapon so far this year. Have you watched any games? Seriously. Go back and look at any game and see how often zeke runs for less than 3 yards then explain why they shouldn't attempt a pass and to just keep running. Defenses are daring Dak to beat them, loading up to stop zeke which is killing his productivity. zeke's catches are also up in an attempt to get him the ball in space a bit more.

If Zeke is able to get consistent runs. Vs Washington he was not able to run and putting yourself in 2nd 3rd and long just to say we ran the ball is stupid. Defense will not allow him to run and beat them, Dallas has to show enough in the passing game to force defense to back off. Having 8 and 9 defenders vs 5 OL players is not a great way to make a living. I want to see Zeke get the ball but if he is not getting consistent positive yards then hell defense will be more than glad to play that game.

I agree, Zeke is 2nd in attempts per game in the NFL. Cowboys are running him

Here are the rushing results vs wash in yards.

+4, -1, +1, +3, +2, -1, +5, -1, +1, +3, +4, +1 here are the first half runs vs wash. You can look the rest up for yourself. So you wanted 30 runs by zeke, he's on pace for mod 20's and very little yardage. If they want to win they have got to make plays through the air as well.

I agree, it is not Zeke, it is the attention that defense are paying to Zeke. Dallas has to do more in the air to open things up at the LS. You do that, Zeke yards become easier and our down and distant becomes easier to manage. Zeke has a bulls eye on him defense will not back off until you can make them pay for it.

We need to get back to running the ball well. In 2016 we ranked second in TOP in 2017 and 2018 we were/are 14th and 16th and our win loss record reflected it. If Cooper can command attention freeing up Beasley a little and Gallup and continue to develop defenses can't just key on Zeke and we can get back to those long methodical drives that wear opposing defenses down. It hinges on the OL's ability to control the trenches. Lets hope Houck and Columbo can get them back to being the strength of the team.

Sticking with the theme of pounding the rock and wearing teams down , yes I still want the ball in my best players (zeke's) hands. Based on running games getting better as the game goes on. Yes.

Emmitt didn't bust out early every game but Jimmy stuck with it. We're now back to defenses being able to dictate what we do based on formation.

Sure until you start falling behind by a couple of scores then it is hard to run the ball while eating up clock on yourself.

It’s up to how the o-line performs, and how well they can get the pass game opened up. That’s been the issue with them. They do tend to play better at home,so there’s that going for them at least. Cooper even in a low reception game, should at least take away some coverage for the others. We can talk about this till the cows come home, but we’ll just have to see what the changes do for them in real time.

True all that matters is what transpires on the field.
