Questions about tailgating...

I'm going to my first cowboys game on Thanksgiving day, I was wondering if some fellow fans could share some information with me....

How bad will parking be on thanksgiving, am I going to have to pay a fortune for a close spot? What time will lots start filling up?
Am I allowed to set up and operate a fryer (I was hoping to to fry a turkey)?
I already have tickets, but heard about the party deck for onl $50, or something, is that a good viewing area?

Any help is much appreciated!

I walked from the hotel the first game at the new stadium and parked at TGIF last year on the advice of Zoner Danny White. In the stadium lots, I saw people cooking but I think those are only season ticket holder spots. For parking at the various restaurants and retailers your best bet would be to call them first and ask about cooking in their lot. Parking costs anywhere from $40 to $100. When we parked in Lincoln Square (where TGIF is) they let you park for free if you spend so much money at the business's. So again, just call around and see.

in the lots operated by the Cowboys ANYBODY can set up a tailgate but it has to be in the spots that surround the perimeter ( the spots that back up to the grassy area around the lots). First come first served.

we have had turkey fryers before BUT i am not sure this year since practically the whole state is under a burn ban. I am gonna have to ask about this.

the parking closest to the stadium ( blue and silver ) are $75

the lots open 4 hours before gametime, usually about 4 1/2 hours before on Thanksgiving. the tailgating spots go first and pretty quickly

Since baseball will be over the Rangers parking lots may be available. A little further, but you may have more room to spread out and set up a fryer, and may be a little cheaper. Mostly concrete and asphalt in most spots, so a burn ban may not be a problem.

got an email today saying the parking lots will open 5 hours before kickoff now

so this sunday 7 am !!!!!!!!!!
