Probably won't do another one until the compensatory picks are announced (I know you are all heartbroken).

1(4) Jared Goff QB 6-4/210 Cal

Bite the bullet, secure the future. Oh by the way, damn good QB.

2(35) Jayron Kearse SS 6-4/220 Clemson

Teamed with Byron Jones, the Cowboys now have two athletic, rangy safeties roaming the field. Kearse has some Kam Chancellor-type size and skills.

3(67) Vernon Butler DT 6-3/309 Louisiana Tech

Team finally decides to add some bulk at DT. Butler is a solid rotational guy who could work his way to starter.

4(110) Kyler Fackrell LB 6-5/250 Utah State

Versatile linebacker with great size. He's built like Rolando McClain and reminds me of Brian Urlacher coming out of New Mexico. Fackrell is a proven pass rusher as well and can play some DE on passing downs.

6(173) Lloyd Carrington CB 5-11/194 Arizona State

Solid, depth guy. 3-year starter at Arizona State after transferring from Pitt (followed Todd Graham), played his high school ball at Lincoln (Dallas).

I'm not quite sold on Kearse. For all that size he brings I have yet to see a physical presence to go with the size in the games I've watched.
Don't know anything about Fackrell...guessing he'd be a SAM?

Other than that it looks really good. Goff is obvious best case scenario, Butler is a beast in the middle, and Carrington is a tough CB with a lot of experience that fits well in a zone.

Like it especially with Goff. I hope he is the pick when it is our turn but I reserve the right to change my mind.

Where is the running back?
We can't neglect bringing a bell cow on board.
And NO! Turbin/McFadden/Dunbar are not the answers.

I am another guy who does not have a handle on J Kearse at SS, second rd seems steep for his hidden talent.
We need a CB/RB with some of our premium picks, in all likelyhood three picks in the first rd go CB, Hargreaves, Alexander, and Fuller all of whom increase our talent level at CB from this year.
After these guys IMO we are drafting replacement level talent for Carr/Claiborne? If coverage of WR's is not so important I understand the alternate choices. We have several fires burning and have to hope some of FA extinguishes the coals.

If we see Goff(I am not there yet) as the savior I understand the pick, if there is more than normal doubt about his talent/cerebral makeup we will have wasted another functional year of Romo because of our decision to decline BPA with a shade of need. It's going to be a fun pre draft season this year with the trenches getting dug for the QB vs BPA inevitable controversy. Great to be digging with you guys this year.

I know we dont always sEE eye to eye. I'm in agreement 100 percent with this. If we don't grab elliott I want collins. We need a guy to tire out a defense. Period.

Any mock draft that has Goff or Lynch as our 1st pick, is a good mock draft.

But I think when trades happen, that won't be a reality. If you really want a guy who can come in and play now - as many QB-starved teams do, one if those two is your target.
