The pressure will be on LC to shine from the outset of the season. JPP in Week 1 followed by Von Miller and Chandler Jones on the road.

Collins initial punch is freakish. I don't see him getting beat with power or speed. He may be susceptible schematically because of lack of playing time but that should be less of an impact from the RT position.

Few thoughts:

Best blocks: at ~2:00m mark he reaches to a gap inside and stands his man, a DT, straight up. He does it off one leg. Then towards the end he catches Mebane on an angle block and carries him 8 yards upfield. To finish he bench presses him another 5 yards.

His quickness, speed, and strength jumps off the screen at you. This makes me comfortable with the move to the outside. I need to see his initial slide step on his setup but I bet it's quick.

That was a puff piece. You don't see one pass protection snap where he was much more dicey. Awareness has been his achilles heel. I would also like to see better finish on those combo blocks. He seems focused on execution and not just playing.

I agree with you as far as what Collins can do. Just stating the tough matchups he faces early on as a 1st time RT.

Cool video!

Collins does have plays where he is a highlight reel. He is a rare breed who can make double and even triple blocks. He has all the physical tools and the will to dominate.

But there is with La'el a big delta between his best plays and his worst plays. He can drift into bad technique or miss assignments. He can whiff.

If he can learn from guys like Frederick, Smith and Martin...to play smart and consistently...he can give us pro bowl results.
