Romo will do just fine this Sunday Night. The Panthers will be starting a rookie corner and a practice squad player in the nickle. Witten should have a big day.

Romo is no Palmer but he will have some opportunities. The Panthers do not have a good running game so stopping the passing game will be their only priority. I think this will be the game to get back on track.

Grading the Defense against the Bengal last Sunday:

RUN DEFENSE: C -- The Panthers streak of holding opponents under 100 yards rushing came to an end at four games after allowing RB Rudi Johnson to rush for 101 yards on 26 carries. The Bengals finished with 112 yards on the ground. Johnson ran for 63 yards in the second half. The Bengals did not score on the ground.

PASS DEFENSE: C -- Bengals QB Carson Palmer threw for 240 yards and two touchdowns against the Panthers, who played most of the second half without injured starting CB Ken Lucas (hip). What is most disappointing is the Panthers weren't able to get much pressure on Palmer despite the fact the Bengals had given up 17 sacks this season and were without two starting offensive linemen, including starting LT Levi Jones.

This certainly doesn't seem to be the Panthers of last year or the year before that as far as sacking the QB goes.

Peppers leads the team with 8 and they only have a total of 15. They have also allowed 15 sacks.

They also have 6 INT's.

He said ROMO "should be fine". Nobody ever said the TEAM "should be fine". But, the o-line better figure things out.

And who is to say that Romo doesn't evade him 18-19 of those times?

Panthers (which I "Officially Hate") have two game films to watch how to destroy the o-line.

We lose

The Cowboys beat them last year in Carolina...Why can't that happen again? Steve Smith is going to get his on any team. If we can stop the big play a win is not out of the question.

I'm hoping to be pleasantly suprised by this game. Both lines will need to step up and play much better than they did against the Giants. Hopefully, these players were embarrassed and are angry. The need to be working their butts off this week and need to give maximum effort against the Panthers. If the lines played like they did against the Giants, we have no chance.

IF we somehow rally behind Romo (assuming he starts) and manage to win this game, it would be HUGE. Odds of that happening, who knows... Our defense looked pretty bad versus the Gmen. We couldn't stop the run and we once again gave up too many big plays in the passing game. We much too much talent on defense to play that poorly.

I think this game is more about Dallas' D vs. Carolina's offense. Delhome will no doubt throw the ball deep in Smith's direction all night, no matter if he's double or triple covered. It's up to the defense to somehow make a play on the ball.

The pressure needs to get to Delhome or else he will throw up those ducks that Smith will take to the endzone.

Julius had a great game in Carolina last year. With both TO and Glenn, I imagine he has a chance to mimic that game however, as in all cases, it's up to the OL to make things happen. Otherwise, the offense will be pass happy and that won't be good for a QB making his 1st start in hostile territory.
