1. Youth on Cowboys DB showed up. They are quicker. Will get better when Lewis is involved.
2. Tank & Tapper showed this team has pass rushers.
3. Maliek Collins get wide too often. Giants were effectively funneling him outside. Needs to stay in gap and show power. Collins had 1 tackle in this game. Saw him in training camp & was too explosive to end up with those numbers.
4. Chaz Green can pull. If he stays healthy this OL doesn't have weak link.
5. Sean Lee is insane. It's like having Defensive Coordinator on the field.
6. Terrence Williams continues to unsung hero of this team. Plays hurts, signs team friendly contract.
7. Jaylon Smith. I like the black cleats. Straight speed is good. RB can still make him miss. To me it looks like he still doesn't like to plant hard when he doesn't have forward momentum going. This could be he doesn't fully trust foot yet or he might simply not fully feeling when foot is planted. Really hard to tell. I still don't know if he is starter if the nerve doesn't heal more. Has so much raw ability its just heartbreaking. For now I will trust Stephen Jones on issue and believe nerve will continue to heal. Certainly not bad game for Jaylon but not sold either.

Totally agree on both of these. To me Smith looked tentative out of the gate, which is understandable. I'm sure some of it is just getting his sea legs but you have to think the fact he played better in the second half is partially attributable to Sean Lee being next to him.

Jaylon will be 100% physically and settled in by midseason, when that happens and Hitches returns our LB corp will be excellent.

Their gameplan was to double team M.Collins and see if the other players on DL could best them. He still got great push on many snaps.

Jaylon still isn't ready, but he looks leaps and bounds from the 1st PS game IMO, which is confidence building IMO.

You praise Lee and put Jaylon down........they tied for most tackles on the team. If you praise Lee for his stats then Jaylon deserves the same

I disagree Jaylon deserves credit for coming as far as he did. But now that he is ont he field his measuring stick is different. He does appear to be coming in to hot and over running plays, he is just flying around and I hope it builds confidence about his knee but he needs to become more technician and less athletic. Lee is technician and what athleticism he has lost over the years it is hardly noticeable because he can see the plays as they unfold.

Let me say it again.......

Lee had the same amount of tackles then Jaylon......unless you are saying Jaylon is better.

Jaylon first game playing and was step for step with Lee in the stats. How anybody can praise 1 and not the other is foolish

To me it was pretty obvious that Lee was the superior lb'er tonight. Love that Jaylon has looked as good as he has but IMO he is not fully there yet. Once that nerve has fully regenerated then he will be a sight to see.

Not sure how 1 can be better then the other when the stats were identical but Lee had more snaps.......the difference in stats was Jaylon forced a fumble and Lee did not

Doesn't work that way. It's not nearly so simplistic as just counting tackles.

Where did the tackles occur...for losses or for long gains? How did the players do in pass coverage? Lee was at all-pro level tonight...making huge impact against run and pass. I think virtually all his tackles were for losses or short gains. And he got into passing lanes big time.

Checked stats again, check this out...

Giants LB B.J. Goodson credited with 18 tackles, 14 solo. Last year in 15 games, had 5 TOTAL tackles, with a combined 9. What the? What shot did the Giants give him before the game?

Paea surprised me. While Taco did not make any splash plays he seemed to handle his assignments well.

LOL I didn't even know he played lol. Until you said his name I forgot about him. I guess that's not bad for a rookie DE

Exactly, it's pretty easy to understand. Seems he is on a mission of sorts.

Nobody wants Jaylon to shine at an all-pro player as much as me. He showed some great speed in pursuit tonight.

Keep it real, bro. Jaylon's performance tonight wasn't special, except in the fact of what he's overcome. He could definitely get there.

I think people tend to over analyze Jaylons game.

7 tackles and a forced fumble in the first NFL game of his career. Ever. Excellent production in limited snaps.

Was he perfect? Clearly not. But he was not a liability either.

He will only get better.

I am not looking at his numbers at all. I am seeing if he has weaknesses that can be exposed as teams watch film on him. If I am RB I am making him move laterally. A healthy Hitchens doesn't really have weakness. So for Jaylon to stay starter he will have to be better than Hitchens. Only way I see that happening is if the nerve continues to heal. I am all in on what Cowboys have been telling us that nerve suddenly started to accelerate its healing and could be 100% by week 8. If it doesn't then I have concerns about him being starter.
