Quick Pam Oliver vid...she does stick up for the players

I've always thought she was a very good and credible sideline reporter.
 
Or maybe she doesn't want to be part of the story.

Pam Oliver is a sideline reporter. That means she's getting the uncut version from players, many of whom are still emotional and have their "game faces" on.

Maybe she understands this and instead of making stories from the "actual" words of the players she gives them the benefit of the doubt and cleans up their words so her relaying information isn't her trying to stir up controversy for the sake of controversy.

And maybe that's why she is respected and gets candid interviews with players.

that is the point. She said she did, meaning he really must have said something very negative about the team and the city or both.

so for him to attack her is wrong.
