When did CBS start playing NFC games- i.e Eagles vs. Seahawks? I thought CBS only played AFC games or games where the AFC opponent plays at an NFC stadium.

A few years ago. They do this later in the season, so both networks can have competitive games on Sundays, as opposed to 2 bad teams matching up.

It is part of the Flex schedule deal with SNF......each network gets to cherry pick and protect a few games a year
