I don't agree with any of you, but I just wanted to get everyone on record as saying they hate our entire coaching staff, ownership, and most of our players? Right?

Geniuses, all of you.
Well, I can tell you that you struck out with me. I am not guilty of any of the 3 though I suspect Zimmer's job is in jeopardy this off season if they don't click. That doesn't mean I am rooting for anything though. Just being realistic.

This is a 6-10 team that has now been completely overhauled to accomodate Bill's guys and a suspect 3-4 scheme.

Let the authority worshippers make excuses for their boys, but whether any of us have won Super Bowls is irrelevant.
We are not earning big six figure incomes and earning national fame and we didn't call for a one yard short-of-a-first-down pass in two consecutive games, and we didn't leave our safeties exposed in deep coverage ---by design, and we didn't give our QB a play with no TE option, and we didn't treat a fullback like he doesn't belong on a football field, and we didn't infer blame on a rookie for missing a block when our pro-bowl coddled OLs are missing theirs.

Wise up Parcell/Payton apologists. It's not that we might do better---it's that they must do better.

LOL, yeah I'm sure that's exactly how it was drawn up in the playbook. "Remember Terry, whatever you do don't cross the goal line before you catch it, the whole play will be ruined!"

Couldn't be the same player running the route a yard short twice, could it?

NorthDalal said:

Uh, isn't that what safeties are supposed to do - deep coverage? Especially with 5 minutes left in the game and up by two TDs?

and we didn't give our QB a play with no TE option
If you're referring to the Oakland play, I think there was a TE option out there. Bledsoe made a pre-snap read to go to Glen and with a 3 step drop didn't have time to look back the other way. How is that Bill's fault?

and we didn't treat a fullback like he doesn't belong on a football field
Yes, that is exactly what the entire problem with this football team is - fullback. Funny, JJ didn't miss not having one last year.

and we didn't infer blame on a rookie for missing a block when our pro-bowl coddled OLs are missing theirs.
What does the sentence "All of our offensive line played terrible except for the centers" translate to in your native tongue?

Wise up Parcell/Payton apologists. It's not that we might do better---it's that they must do better.

How about our HOF LG and Pro Bowl LT actually go a full game without missing a critical, game changing block or getting a holding call to nullify a big play? How about our safeties actually pretending to play safety instead of wishing they were LBers? How about our rookie RB goes where the play is designed to go instead of free-lancing it to the outside looking to make a big play? How about our veteran receiver stops getting illegal motion penalties? How about our All-World SS stop dropping interceptions that hit him in the facemask?

Or how about the players get on iota of blame for anything instead of everything that is wrong with this team being attributed to "playing not to lose" whatever the f*** that means?

Zimmy will live on another year only because Parcells and Jones have failed to provide him with enough stud linebackers to run the 3-4. If they give him a run-stuffing backer to play the middle next year and he still fails to produce, then they'll can him.

13 points isn't really a two touchdown lead, thus, the problem.

As a point of reference, maybe people on this board need to rewatch the hotstepper video of JJ again. Did JJ run out of singleback alot? Sure. Did he run a good amount of plays with a blocking fullback or TE? He sure did, watch the video. Whether its a TE or a fullback, it's the same principle.

Fullbacks can bring alot more to a team than blocking too. A guy like Richie Anderson is a run threat, a receiving threat, and he even threw a touchdown or two. Like I said in another thread, the mere presence of a good fullback in the backfield takes pressure off the running back. If it's just JJ in the backfield, it makes the play easier to read and it's pretty obvious who's going to run the ball.

Sorry, rounding error.

Tell me again why safeties shouldn't be trusted in deep coverage?

We run a lot of two TE sets. Which provides a bigger, better blocker at the point of attack and also adds what is usually a better receiving option.

Especially with the TEs we had available vs the FBs who were available.

fire parcells? hell no! hell i mean i could see if we played the cardinals and got blown out....but weve played some pretty good teams....the niners are imporved and teh skins are always tough no matter how much i hate them.we were in position to win every game also, so im not bringing the axe down on anyone. no matter what lamont jordan got on teh ground, we still help the explosive raiders to 19 points....so there is hope for the defense becoming great still....i cant understand the faithless folks that sometimes frequent this great board....it is just reminiscent on bandwagon jumping. i know noone went into this season with the illusion that we would go undefeated on our way to the playoffs? get real! its only four games into the season!

The 49ers are improved? Did you watch them play on Sunday?

Hilarious username.

I suspect the news of his demise are premature, but you never know.

You're wrong on my account. I love Parcells as the head coach, I'm content with Zimmer's work so far this year (sans the Washington game for 90 seconds). Payton is the guy that I'm not too high on. Mainly because I've only second guessed one play call during Parcells first two years (when he went for it on 4th down against the Giants last year on our own 30 yard line). In the first 4 games, I've second guessed Payton more than a handful of times and they've really taken Witten out of the game.

I'll still reserve judgement for now since the season is young and things can change.

Rich.....

The only thing I've noticed about the Zone is:

- the media is against us and there's an anti-Cowboy conspiracy
- officials lose games for us
- Pro Bowl players from other teams are always available for Dexter Coakley and a 4th round draft pick

Given your sig line, that's pretty funny.

your sig line said:
Bring back Jimmy Johnson. Anybody got a time machine? If so, take me back to 1993.

Jerry was the owner in 1993.

I think we need to work on our staff.. Let parcells call the plays with Payton giving him suggestions. Zimmer needs to take a lesser role on our coaching staff and we need to bring someone in who can teach the 3-4 besides parcells and has experience doing so.. I like Zimmer but after putting Ware on Moss on the 3rd play of the game and using Keith Davis as support that is the last straw... That play cost us the game. Other then that Moss was shut out which is a good testiment to Zimmer adjusting but he cant let us give up those big plays its cost us 2 already, and almost 4...

Belichick put linebackers against great Recievers all the time and it works for him.
Maybe the Cowboys just aren't diquising things well yet.
Due to the fact they are only 4 games into the season with this new defense

Ware job was to get a bump at the line he was never in coverage of Moss.
