I believe everyones complaint is regarding an injury at a position that has no viable back up. QB sneaks are ok after that.
I don't think any team decides to call or not call a QB sneak based on their backup QB situation. It just not a factor in the decision.
The Patriots do not call them with Brady because they like their backup QB so it worth the risk.

Have you been in the game day thread the last few years when we get stuffed at the goal line on third or 4th down? People complain how stupid we are for never calling QB sneaks.

Now we call one and people are saying how stupid it is that we called a QB sneak.

I agree with you on the vast majority of this, except for the hurdle. Personally, I was worried that the linebacker was going to smash him and the ball was going to come out. Moves like that expose players to big hits and possible injuries and always make this fan more than a bit nervous.

Its actually a move he has used frequently in the past, in college he did one while the guy was standing almost straight up. I've only seen him do it in space though, doing this while going through the middle is a recipe for disaster as your worries are well founded.

Doing this while running between the tackles could get him lit up of course, but in space it could be a game breaking move.

Yes. Good post. That about sizes it up. The FO certainly needs to stiffen the defense up in the next draft to take this club into a bright future.
Gregory and Lawrence were supposed to be the guys...but right now only one of them has put any kind of down payment on a certain future. Gregory could well end up a wash out. You have to get your head on straight. The Cowboys should try and get him turned around, but in two or three years he could be out of this league if he doesn't get his substance abuse issues under control. It's bad enough that Lawrence is caught up in this foolishness, but BOTH? The Cowboys at least have to go one-for-two with this situation. To lose them both to bull#### would be a real loser going forward...

Not that Jones would ever do it to Romo...one has to wonder, given Prescott's upside and current performance, if someone inside the organization is not quietly entertaining the idea of seriously buffing up the defense at Romo's expense. Absolute heresy to admit...but I wonder...and NO I don't support it at the moment, because I think Romo is the best guy for this offense if he can stay healthy. His return should see a deeper passing game, allowing Zeke to really take off. That said, three straight games without an INT is pretty special for a rookie. I think it was Romo who did it last (2014). Prescott can go one better at San Francisco, a team looking like a dumpster fire on defense over the past two weeks.

What's wrong with the QB sneak?

Patriots run it all the time. It worked. QB's are going to get hit time from time. Sure there's less of a chance on a sneak for an injury compared to a blind side hit.

Brady goes low, not high...

Biggest thing from last night...
If this team had any kind of pass rush they would be hard to beat

He's playing good.. He needs to be better than that. You can find good anywhere in the draft at that position. He was advertised as special.
And hes going to be special, pretty sure about that. But the first time you rode a bike did anyone compare you to Evil Kenevil (however you spell it). Of course not. Give the kid a chance to get acclimated to the NFL and NFL defenses and our Oline speed and then judge him. Give him a year or two then judge him. Just like your 2nd or third ride on that bike, you got better with every try. So will Zeke. Just let him grow into it.

Remember Farves first game, he turned out pretty good. But you have to let them grow in to it.
